House Flooded...guitars Soaked

I got up today to go to work, and there was 5 inches of water in my living room. We have had MAJOR rain storms here lately, and my drainage pipe clogged during the night and the water backed up into the house. We had to have the fire department come over and pump out the water. Now, a water damage restoration company is coming over to give us an estimate on the damage. We lost our wall to wall carpeting, our couch, our desks and bookcases, lots of kids toys, etc. etc. The worst part for me...is that three of my guitars were sitting in their cases and soaking in the 5 inches of water! The insides of the cases are wet and the guitars were all wet on the bottom, as they were sitting upright against a wall. I have the guitars out of the cases and have the cases open in an attempt to dry it all out. Do you think the guitars will be ok? Will that water and musty smell ever leave the case? This sucks. However, with that being said, I don't think you should dry them out fast, because wood warps and cracks when it dries fast. You should seriously call a local luthier as soon as possible so he can tell you exactly what to do. I think the guitars will be fine since they did not marinate in the water for too long. Hoping anyway. I keep my guitars in my house where there is a chance of flooding if it really comes down hard and the power goes out at the same time. If the power is out the sump pump does not work and the basement will flood. It only happened once about 2 years ago and I was able to rescue the guitars since I was home and saw the water starting to come in. Now I have wall hangers to keep them off the floor as a little extra precaution. It would have to get 4 ft deep to get to them now and if that happens I would have a lot of other things to worry about besides my guitars. On the guitar subject I would be very wary of any water getting into the woods, guitar woods are usually dried over a long period of time as moisture makes the wood unstable, any excessive moisture exposure will almost certainly have affected something in them. At the very least make sure the loss assessor is aware of the damage to them so if any problems do arise it will be logged in your claim.
