How many things can you imitate using your beloved 6, 7 or 8 or even 9 string? 
If there are any 9 string users here at GMC 
Pick up your guitar and show us all what you can imitate with it - anything is allowed: Whammy, adding FX and stuff like that

Haha Very good mate! Jonas Tamas also showed us how he imitates a bird and I know there was a famous elephant imitation done by Van Halen - anybody know how to do that one?

I don't really have anything that imitates something else but I mess with 'weird' sounds a lot.
Here's a track where all the stuff that sounds like synth parts and noise is actually guitar. Everything other than vox, bass and percussion was done with a guitar (including the obvious 'guitar' parts).
I used an ebow/volume pedal/EH micro-synth/wah/reverse fx w/DL4 and probably a slide too. All 'static' and 'noise' is also me.

Great idea Jonas! Let's revise - we have the Alarm Clock, the Motorbike and the Cow What would we need next?
BTW Jonas, that alarm clock sounds very close to the sort of stuff that Mattias would do Awesomeness - does it have anything to do with controlling the sound made by to overlapping notes? It could be a tonic and its flat second played on a different string in the same time? Just guessing here

I did not know that my name meant sword in Japanese ... but I like that! (It also means yes in Hebrew and breadth of understanding in english).

When we create a "Farm Noises" song, then we need dogs and a donkey as well - and fortunately, I already have these on guitar - I'll search my winchester for these sounds:)

The donkey sound is produced by a really crazy trick. The dog is easier:)
I'm looking forward to the other member's Special Fx ideas! It boosts the creativity a lot to try to think outside of the box, and playing a donkey instead of an A-minor pentatonic lick

I can do a whale song but I can't find any recorded examples of it. That's easy though: high notes, volume pedal, delay and reverb.

Donkey: pushing the low E string upwards (in a similar manner as in the case of http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=47807) at the 15th fret, until the string leaves the neck and goes to the side. Then, a "regular" G note on the same fret.
Dog: just a normal note with a slide from downwards, usually the G string 11th fret gives the average "dog barking pitch"

Are you alternate picking and pulling on the whammy against towards the guitar body, in order to gradually tension the strings ?

Yes, with the method you've described, a very similar sound can be achieved.
But here I've used a different method
I do something very specific with the pick, and the left hand does something, too. I didn't use the whammy bar in this one though.Let's see whether we have some more guesses, before resolving this UFO-riddle

This is the way to do this trick. Dampen all the strings with your left hand, around frets 5-8. Then hold the pick upside down (so the flat end touches the strings). Start to mover ('rasp') the D-G strings with an up-down motion around fret 12, and then gradually go towards the pickups, while keeping on rasping.

Decided to let Steve do his job, instead f me recording it (don't have a wah pedal at home unfortunately) so here we go - The laughing guitar!
Check out sec 0:32
You need a floating tremolo bridge and a wah pedal for this. Start on a higher fret with the bar pressed, then just release the bar and at the same time, toe down the wah pedal. Do this in succession, fretting lower each time

Sounds like you're raking the pick against the strings (maybe the D and G strings?) starting from the bridge towards the neck? T'would be too easy, so I don't bet on it though

Yes, you are right. It was an easier one than the donkey or forest bird sound earlier
I've used the long side of the pick, and started the quick up-down movement above fret 22, while gradually sliding towards the lower frets.

This is my "Crazy slide" trick. It is obviously a slide, but as you can hear, the intervals are a lot bigger than the minor 2nd intervals would be that given by the frets.

Actually, this sound can only be produced with a Floyd Rose guitar with a too low string height. One of my students has brought his guitar this week before taking it to set up properly. And I've used the opportunity to record this sound:) Just pick a note then pull the tremolo bar upwards, and the string "sits down" to a higher fret, which chokes the sound. It is a really crazy trick, because you'd need a bad setup guitar to pull it off!

I don't like floyds anymore - too complicated to set up and always causing some trouble when doing more complex bends in respect to tuning of the rest of the strings, but I admit - you can do a lot of tricks with it
