Ok guys, let me start off by thanking Smells for helping me on this. Thank's Chris!

I really wanted to do something to show how the GMC community has helped me. I joined back in November with little to no knowledge but determined. I've since been going through all the beginner basics here and wanted to show that this is a great place to learn.

I had this crazy idea to do this beginner/advanced collab where I would play a rhythm section and an advanced player would solo over it. At that point, I contacted Smells and asked for his help.

I wanted a rock\metal sound so he sent me 5 different beats to work with. I found the one I liked and off I went. I started by just playing and feeling the beat until I found a rhythm I liked. Next, I focused on what key and tempo I could handle and also throwing some dif scales in there to see what it sounded like.

Once I had a finished rhythm, I sent it to smeels. Of course he wanted me to add a little solo of my own so that sloppy section you hear 15 secs in is me. (like you can't tell tongue.gif ). Smells worked with it for a little while and came up with this.

Anyway, just wanted to here what you guys thought. Advice, coments welcomed!

Mainly I want beginners to know how great this place is and how you can truly learn from GMC!

Steve

Hi Steve, just a thought, I think you should post your backing track as well on its own without the solo`s, the guitars are all your work.

I think you done brilliant for a few months playing mate biggrin.gif

Nice job guys!! smile.gif

Skennington, since you're still beginner I'm not gonna talk a lot,
just try to add some vibrato to your playing.
Keep it slow and with vibrato it'll sound even cooler, great progress so far!!
