Hello folks,
Just recorded something for Todd's Quick Licks, came to put the sound file into the film track and on playback it was like this. I went back into the DAW and played the recorded (none rendered) track and it sounds the same. I rebooted and tried again and got the second file which I find even more weird because the problem fades after a few seconds but only on the video HERE and its the same in my Daw but not in the second Soundcloud version of the same file. Any ideas? Thanks, I haven't changed anything though and why does it disappear after a few seconds on the second take?
All settings and sample rates are the same as all other recordings I've done. I'll try to re-open another project that worked and use that as a template. I will experiment more tomorrow. That sounds like clock drift. It happens when recording between digital devices and their clocks are not in sync. Notice they are sync for a while, then drift apart? Try setting your audio interface to get clock from the outboard device.

I don't really know why it behaves like that on the second take. But I know I've had an almost identical issue with my soundcard(motu 624AVB) at times and it's been resolved by changing samplerates back and forth. Could be something completely different though. Yeah, I'm quite certain the problem isn't the sample rate. It sounds like clock drift. However, changing the sample rate, then putting it back to where it was originally will reset the clock. Resetting the clock in this way will put the clock back in sync, but that's usually only a temporary fix. Setting the clock source properly is usually the only way to fix it. Some outboard devices expect that they will be the clock master, so you have to give them control of the clock. -------------------- Cyber-industrial music and video animations:

Thanks everyone,
Recording from Helix USB as I have for the last few months, changed nothing. In fact I remember now, for that second take I opened a fresh project. I tried re-booting on the night it happened. No result so switched off until the following practise session and all was good.
