I don't think you can change tempo in the middle of the song in Guitar Pro. Or I couldn't find that option.

You can also do gradual slow down of tempo and gradual increase in tempo with that mix thing. And volume swells and all sorts. Guitar Pro is great smile.gif

This program is on the good way to become a kind of standard for guitar tabs. However handy it is I found many things need to be improved. As I am using it more and more I am finding things missing like unlimited undo, not able to select half a bar and other things essential for this type of software. Yesterday I imported a simplest possible midi file, GP wrote so many weird notes I couldn't believe. They sounded correctly but writen completely wrong. Sibelius is still unbeatable for any kind of tab/notation.

I've never tried Sibelius. Is it as good for guitar as GP?

I agree with Emir. Guitar Pro is too bad when you have to make a real good notation work. Sibelius or Finale are the best programs in that matter.

Sibelius is world industry standard for professional notation. Guitar Pro is not even 5% of Sibelius. Compare 50$ to 1300$.

Every big guitar magazine uses it for transcriptions. You can make professional looking score for a whole philharmonic orchestra. Every instrument on the planet is included. The program is expensive but the best on the market. I transcribed some of my upcoming lessons in Sibelius. Kristofer will include PDF for download instead of GP file. GP is better for GMC because it's cheap and easy to use but sometimes I can't write all I need in GP.

Thanks! I just checked out the website. There is a free fully functional 30 day trial of Sebilius First. Obviously a scaled down version but for those on a budget and for the files on GMC it might be a great alternative to GP. Thanks for the info, I'll download that one to start with and see how I like it. It's $129 USD, but that seem reasonable for what you get.

Thanks for the Sibelius info, I'll try it out. I used score editor from Nuendo sometimes, but I guess Sibelius is on a whole another level from that.
