Since I think its far too little jazz-music here in uploads (I think that at least Pedja and Vasili will agree upon that... tongue.gif ), I'm posting a song that I've practiced on lately as part of the MTP. It's Jerome Kerns "Yesterdays" in my own version.
I really dont know if I like it or not - what do you guy's think ???

Very cool playing Staffay. Some parts I prefer over the others but I like the idea for the arrangement and different soloing approaches. Keep up the good work man!

Yeah, Im really trying to experiment a lot here, even that some phrases are more the "old-fashioned" -way. I will never learn to play it like Wes & the other guys anyway, my hard-rock background has destroyed that kind of playing until forever.... biggrin.gif

That was awesome Staffy. Around 1:00 and on you really started picking up the phrasing - I enjoyed every minute of it.

and your beard is awesome. I have about another year before mine is that long, that is if my wife doesn't tie me down with the sheep sheers first dry.gif

Thx. I have no wife = no problem... laugh.gif The story behind it is that me and my former partner made a bet about a year ago that we wont shave before last christmas, otherwise we have to pay the loosing part some 100's Euros. So I really knew that I was going to win, since he is married and hiw wife got tired of his beard in just 4 months..... tongue.gif And now i kinda like it, it suits my blues-maniac image pretty well, and I have no other hair to brag about. (at least not on my head.....)

Man that sounded great Staffy. Jazz makes me feel like I know absolutely nothing about guitar/theory, but I love the sound of it and it's something I can enjoy from an 'outside looking in' perspective.

Keep up the awesome playin'

Thx. bro! Jazz is no secret, it just take some studying, like all kinds of music. wink.gif The main reason for playin jazz for me is that I think its the state-of-art music harmony and melody-wise. Practicing these things really opens up Your ears, and no matter what music You're dealing with, it will be a lot easier with some jazz-knowledge.

I'll have to keep that in mind then and study some jazz basics one day.

Staffy,

This is top notch mate! I can really hear it in a jazz/piano bar or fine dining restaurant. You should be pitching your stuff to music libraries, my friend. Seriously. smile.gif

Thx. Rob. This is music I play just for my own pleasure. Finding an audience for this is very hard, unless You target the graveyard.... tongue.gif But I really I enjoy playing jazz, together with blues & soul its really my favourite kind of music.
