That AC4 looks amazing... I will definitely get an all tube bedroom amp sometime in the future and this might very well be it!, 4, 1 and 1/4 watt sounds perfect, plus it has a 12'' cab.... yummy!!

Just noticed the small one doesn't have a gain knob. How does it produce distortion then, just increasing volume?
I guess a tubescreamer is a must for this one then, is that right?

Yes, increase the volume to achive poweramp distortion.
And like you say, an OD pedal too.
