GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Pick My Next Guitar!

Posted by: purple hayes May 19 2009, 01:35 PM

Guitar Center sent me a 15% off coupon in the mail (but I can't use it on Fender or Gibson/Epiphone guitars). I need to use it this weekend. I also have a $75 gift card from there that has to be used by the end of the month.

I'm in the mood for a new guitar. I currently play a MIM Strat.

My $$$ limit before coupon and gift card is $700.

Find me something sweet. No odd guitar shapes or weird paint jobs please.

Cool smile.gif

I'd go for either http://www.guitarcenter.com/ESP-LTD-EC-401-Electric-Guitar-580199-i1435799.gc or http://www.guitarcenter.com/ESP-LTD-Viper-401FM-Electric-Guitar-520111-i1435795.gc smile.gif
That's just my opinion though..

If I were you I would go straight for a Schecter C-1 Hellraiser! With the discount, it will be in your price range. I can't believe the stats of this guitar for the money...EMG active 81/89 with coil tap...set neck...string through body...mahogany body...beautiful binding...etc, etc! Plus...I think it looks STUNNING!

What guitar do you have right now?

Are you fan of Fender or Gibson looking guitars/necks?

I don't know which body style you prefer and what you want to play with you new axe but here are some of my suggestions:

It's a shame you can't use the discount on Fender , but anyway I would go for this Ibanez, if I'm not wrong is the that wrk is using at the moment.

It's a very good looking and versatile guitar.

That's what I'm leaning toward but they don't stock them. I'd have to special order.

I also believe that you can't use the 15% on an order...it has to be something in store.

Dang it! I'll have to go home and read the fine print on the coupon.

Perhaps a prestige Ibanes S?

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-S5470-Prestige-Electric-Guitar-104837513-i1392781.gc

I don't know if it is in the price range tho, exactly how much is the budget with all the coupons and gifts added?

They had one of those that was used. It played sweet, but it was kinda dinged up so I passed.

Ibanez S... aaaah...

I like the SV personally, because it has a non-locking trem. It does seem to be a big more expensive... Oh, and this whole forum is happy about the Schecters, so it might be worth trying them!
