Hey there, folks. I'm from Latvia, and I'm 14. Not long ago, I got a guitar, and I wanted to learn. In about three months.. I barely learnt anything. So, I decided, that internet lessons would be best for me. After all, it allows you to learn from very talented guitarists.
But, here's the problem part. I don't know why, but I can't progress chords fast enough. When I play things like the Slow Melody Lesson, I can keep up, but when I tried to play the Heavy Metal for Begginers lesson, well, there was a three second pause between the chords. Can I learn to play power chords acceptably by time, or do some people just ''don't have it in them''? Is there anything that could help me with this problem?
welcome to GMC!
practise should fix that. are you having to pause to put your fingers in the right place? once you get used to positions it'll be easy.
Welcome m8! Have fun here!
As for chords - you'll nail it with time! All you need is to memorize the chords positions and shapes and learn to "grab" them
See you on the forum
I can assure you that you DO have what it takes to nail these chords! Also that anything is acheivable with practice.

Welcome
You're still very new to the guitar, so I wouldn't worry too much about how fast you can progress through the chords...just keep practicing them, focus more on accuracy than on speed; keep it up, and over time you'll get faster...trust me
Welcome!
As others have said, practice is all you need - I still remember the very first time I changed a chord in time to the music after many weeks of practice
Welcome!
Practice!

Keep practicing them after a while u will be able to switch without looking
Welcome
Welcome,holy practice is the word
There is no such thing as complete natural talent when it comes to music. Some people can learn faster and may have absolute pitch but in the end, with practice, anyone can accomplish anything. Check out the quote in my signature and practice! Accuracy first, then speed.
Welcome
as everyone is saying.. practice will be the solution
Welcome
Same as everyone else has said, just keep practicing hard and you will achieve your goals

Welcome!
Try holding down the chord, then putting your left hand on your lap, then holding the same chord again. That really helped for me. It also helps to memorise the chords you're most likely to use.
Don't worry about it man, you are on the right place to learn to play guitar.Welcome to GMC !
Chords and everything else will come with practice..And YOU can surly play guitar if you want it!! Just be a little patient and everything will come to its place..
When I was a beginner I lived in fear of power and barre chords.
Dont worry, you'll get there eventually - just keep practicing
