Comes with a standalone too, intro price at 35 dollars, worth a check. My quick impression was they really nailed the amp touch response. The master knob is part of the tone and has a huge influence, can get really compressed (great for shred) so careful not overdoing it or there will be a lot of noise. The only downsider for me was the cab.s., the character is there but for some reason sounded dark for me even with the presence knob all up. Maybe I missed something and will check again but it lets the use of 3rd party impulse cab.s so no problems there. |

I'm a bit more impressed with this one as it has fx and such built in. The amp alone sim is sorta like the FORTIN amp sim that folks are going nuts over. It's got great flexibility but no fx. So you have to built your own channel strip and save the entire channel strip if you want to recreate the tone. Bit of a pain, but it is what it is. Here is the full suite with fx version.

... Tip; try the clean jtm45 mode with the freeware pro F.ET. by ignite; https://www.kvraudio.com/product/prof-e-t-by-ignite-amps (lower highs, add mid.s), and don't forget to oversample the amp as it makes a huge difference. Lovely brutal powerchords They are taking suggestions from users, a render specific oversampling option and a basic reverb seems might be added in the future. I don't really care for fx cause of all the amp sim.s I tried, the quality is always so low (probably to save cpu) with the fx. I always use studio specific plug-ins even though my computer today can be considered quite old. Almost every plug-in these days (though must admit I also use some pretty old, cpu friendly plug-ins too) has an upsampling option, when recorded I just engage them for render and things sound as good as they can be. I like it more as I play but on headphones I can't really judge as its night here right now, the cab.s when solo sounds fine but ultimate test for me is always with backing tracks using my speakers. It's just a workflow thing. I've got plenty of CPU overhead with a quad core I7 so it's more handy if I can just make a single preset using something like Overloud or the new JST Misha plugin that I can just recall inside of a new project file later on. Trying to rebuild a signal chain if I've forgotten to save the channel strip is just too much of a time suck for me personally. Probably why I drift toward all in one solutions like Overloud/JST. The JST sounds really nice if you start with the misha presets. I couldn't get sound I liked til I tried the presets. Then it was great. I can save the patch as one file and then load it next time I'm creating a new project. Quick, easy, sounds good, real time, done. But everyone has a different situation and different preferences. This is the JST with a Misha Lead patch. It's very simple to use as it's got just 3 fx to choose from. Overloud is vastly more complicated by comparison. I think that throws some people off.
This is the same plugin on rythm guitars and bass I'm using four instances of the plugin for guitars and it plays back in real time with no perceptible lag on recording or playback. It's very handy. Less cpu intensive that my big overloud patches as well.
