Hi everyone. I'm addicted to anything that is related to blues. I like movies that have alot of blues music in them or is about blues music, like Black Snake Moan and Crossroads.
I have only seen one documentary about blues so far, "The Blues Accordin' to Lightnin' Hopkins". I would like to see more, but I don't know about any good ones.

It would be great if you guys could recommend some good blues related movies/documentaries.
Perhaps we can make a little list.

You should check out an old movie starring Denzel Washington called Mo' Better Blues. Its not really guitar related but I know you won't mind. Its about a jazz player named Bleek. He plays a Trumpet with his band and plays on a more sophisticated night clubs. Really gritty movie and the music is just superb. When you watch it, its more like a Jazz music movie more than blues music. Its made by Spike Lee in 1990. Old but not that old.

I love Crossroads. Another cool movie, maybe more "soul" but great one is The Comittments.

O brother where art Thou (I must have seen that too may times already)

That's the ones I know by heart, all pretty well known. Interesting topic, I hope there will be lots of suggestions in here.

Yes, and extremely good music. The scene where Lazarus plays the song "Black Snake Moan" to Rae and the scene when Lazarus is playing with the band in the bar are AMAZING!! I gotta get the CD.

I've seen The Commitments, very funny and enjoyable movie!
