She's a pretty good singer, maybe her style is a little bit one-sided but overall she's a good performer.

Average melodeath. Overrated singer just because shes a women and can growl, it seems like many guys goes crazy over her just because she's a women in extreme metal. Her gender overlook the fact that the music is staggering compare to other Extreme bands out there.

I absolutely love Arch Enemy they are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. Angela Gossow is one of my favorite singers.

However I hate the fact that she gets so much attention just because she's female, for some reason or another I just really love her growl.

I was.

I'm sorry, when I went into the thread I didn't plan to write anything, but since the original post was "discuss", I thought I'd share my opinion.

To rephrase it so it's more fair and objective:

She looks very masculine, and I think her singing is really awful. She has the worst growl I have ever heard from a "big" band. I enjoy her growls as much as pig squeals.

One of my favorite singers, I think her growl is nearly untouchable of terms of sheer energy, passion, and brutality. She is an extremely nice person, When I met her she was nothing but nice and suprisingly soft spoken. Plus her lyrics are beautiful, very empowering smile.gif

It's weird how I'm in complete awe of her growls and some people despise em. Heh, strange how people's opinions work. But eh, fair enough. Can't force someone to like something.

But what does looking masculine have to do with anything? I mean, people don't bash Alexi Laiho too hard for looking like Avril Lavigne tongue.gif

Great singer, awesome live as well. Saw them on Sweden Rock Festival a couple of years back.
Can't really understand how anyone can think it's a guy when listening to them. To me it was clear from the start that it was a woman singing. You can easily hear the female characteristics in her growl.
Anyhoo, great singer, great band!
