Perhaps you mean a tremolo? A lot of older amps have this and I am sure you can get a box to do it as well - I haven;t seen any that use a pedal for the speed though.

You can find quite a few different Tremelo Pedals. This is a cheap one from DANELECTRO!!
You can also achieve a similar effect with a 'Rotary Speaker' effect, which can be found on many Multi Effects units!! -------------------- I'd rather have a full Bottle in front of me than a full Frontal Lobotomy!!

You're probably thinking of a tremolo like the others said. If you can't find one which has a foot pedal or that works with a whammy, which I doubt you will, allow me to introduce a very cool piece of gear called the Third Hand, which is a expression pedal that can replace a knob on any pedal, basically allowing you to have expression pedal control over that parameter. I think a lot of cool things can be done with this pedal..

I used to have an digitech multi effect pedal but for some reason I sold it.. There are volume pedals that work like the volume knob on your guitar; some use it for muting, others to scroll back the gain to get a crunch sound and others create fade in/out effects with it... alright I'll have to check that out. thanks dude |

Using tremolo and volume pedal together can produce the effect you need. You can also use volume on guitar if you can..

A much cheaper option: the Option Knob! haha, i stumbled on that thing while browsing youtube. not exactly what im looking for but a good invention nonetheless. I'm looking for more of a foot pedal that I can moved up and down to control the tremolo. but I think I may have found what ive been looking for thanks to JVM. these two put together. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product...dal-?sku=150146 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Bos...edal?sku=151381 I recently looked up the boss tremolo and some people are saying it drops the volume, does anyone own this pedal, if not any suggestions? well I've never used one, so can't say myself. But there are plenty of reviews out on the web, I was reading the user reviews at harmony central first. People just generally say that it worked great at first, but the belt mechanism inside it is really lame, and wears out quickly/slips a lot. It still might be good though, the only way to find out is to get one yourself. But I don't think it's worth the trouble, personally. By the by, I have seen a pedal tremolo before, where the wah-like pedal adjusts the tremolo rate. Can't remember where, it might have been in the studio when another guitarist was in. But I definantly have seen one, so they do exist some-where out there... -Adam haha thanks, well i guess i'll keep seaching for it. Im sure theres a way to mod the third hand to be more reliable. anyway heres paul gilbert using it; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cex2znTms8 |

I found it!! the tremolo with an expression pedal!!Its called the gig-fx - pro chop v2. Although it has a big price tag, im sure it would be worth saving up for.
