Compared to my RG270, they sound way better, obviously. I tried with ReValver MKIII which has a lot of highly distorded amps and the sound keeps very clear and intact. I am not the sound master so I can't really tell if they are cool but I really felt the difference by switching from my Ibbie to the Strat. But I cannot compare with another Strat unfortunately. The neck pickup give a good clean sound, the middle pickup can get you a nice bluesy/funky feeling and the bridge pickup is full of power. Very versatile, that's why I bought it. As Adrian says you should still be able to get some vintage type sounds out of it! It is possible to Coil Tap those Pups to get a more genuine Single Coil sound!
