My neighbor gave me a guitar that he had packed away that he no longer wanted. It was a 1965 hagstrom III electric guitar. It came with a certificate of authenticity, and it stated that it was number 87 of 300 made in that style / color. It is all original, and everything is in tip top shape, except for a few nicks and scratches on the finish. No bowing at all, extremely low action, three single coil pickups. I just wonder what the thing is worth? any chance you guys might know?
Nice! You got it for free?
Score! Im thinking maybe 400 - 500 $$$
I checked google.com
this the one?
Yeah, its smilar but not similar, totally different finish, its like varnished light wood, it has several switches, and not as hard rounded edges as that one
but heres where i'm puzzled. I took it to 3 guitar shops and told them I knew nothing of it and they all offered me large sums of money, the lowest was 900 dollars, and the highest was 2,000 dollars. They acted as they were common, but i feel as if i was being snaked
Also, on ebay last week there was one with a busted neck and refinished body for 1000.
So i have no idea what to think
Well, i just looked on google and saw $450 and $595 so I dont have a clue...
if its that big of a problem ill take it off your hands free of charge lol
just kidding...
I say keep it! who knows what it might be worth someday!
also, its got another knob down by the existing one, and one more switch at the bottom, i had to go look at it to make sure i was speaking facts
i would keep it if i were you
