Hey fellow shredders!

Right, so I bought a guitar 1 year ago, and only played a few times.
This leads to the fact that I totally suck The guitar's a cheapo Greg Bennett Signature Series Malibu for a couple €100. I recently picked it up again and set my sights on doing some serious practicing this time around.

I listen to a lot of 80s metal, but have lately leaned more towards death and black metal. Being Finnish, I get exposed to a TON of good stuff from my native country all the time. I am residing in the Netherlands at the moment, and since most bands always come here I've seen tons of live concerts. Some of the more noteworthy include:

Hammerfall
Helloween
Iron Maiden
Steve Vai
Horna
Dimmu Borgir
Soulfly
Megadeth
Marduk
Mayhem
Moonsorrow
Insomnium
Keep of Kalessin
Devildriver

and others. As you can see, there's a lot of black metal there Oh well, I'll blame that on an Italian colleague of mine who forces me to accompany him to concerts all the time (literally).

Now, I'm sure you guys will skip most of this long-winded introduction, but as I just woke up from a night shift I'm feeling pretty hyper

As you've probably already guessed, I suck at playing the guitar and just registered here at GMC. I've read through the forums a lot before signing up, and you guys definitely seem like an awesome bunch of guys (and a few girls)!

Right, so now it's time to have a look at the simpler lessons and see what I can accomplish with my signed Steve Harris pick

And the rest, thanks for such a warm welcome! I've been working hard on the guitar since I joined a few days ago, and I haven't gotten bored yet, so it's definitely a good start.
