GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Panacea For Picking Problems!

Posted by: DethKlok Mar 31 2008, 11:05 PM

I've noticed there's a lot of questions and issues involving picking on here, so I decided to post an excerpt from The Principles of Correct Practice for Guitar by Jamey Andreas that really helped me. It's VERY detailed and starts with the "correct" way (I can hear the controversy already) to hold the pick all the way through exercises. There's also a MUCH larger section in the book on fingerstyle, and if there is interest I'll post that. I'm pretty sure that the Andreas plays classical guitar, so this would be most applicable in that style, but I'm sure blues kings and metalheads alike can learn a thing or two from it still.

I have this in ebook format, so if anyone wants the whole thing drop me a line. I would definitely recommend it, and it's a very quick read. I read half of it in a day.

Edit: Almost forgot to actually post it... lol.

I hope so too, laugh.gif . I was under the impression that since only a few pages, and it's cited then it's ok. That's the principle that Google Books (books.google.com) uses to avoid copyright infringement. They let users search inside of books, but only let them read a few pages before and after the location of the search result. Moderators, let me know there is a problem with posting this. Otherwise, enjoy!
