Hey!
Before I start I suppose I should mention that if I'm going to import the gear there's a 25% VAT, so please keep that in mind! Thanks I'm going to buy a new guitar and a new amp. I don't want a locking tremolo on my guitar. I play alot of metal, but also some rock and other various other stuff. My current amp is a Roland Cube 30x. I think that's about it. So, can anyone recommend me a good guitar and a good amplifier? Thanks! EDIT: Added info: I've got around $1500 to spend in total, so that would mean for both together. It's possible that I'll get a couple hundred dollars more, but we'll see. I would like it to be a tube amp, yes, but anything will do if it's good. I will mainly use it at home for practice, but the future might bring more so I would like to be prepared if possible with my budget. Let's see... sound. I've always liked Dethklok's guitars. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stdqPT8LvTg For shape, I generally prefer the super strat/strat type. I'd like at least 24 frets. Any type of wood will do. Well you have to think if you would rather spend 1500$ on a good guitar and amp or spend the whole amount for a great professional gutar while you live with your current amp for a little longer. The Roland 30 is not too bad and good enough for home use, you could spend all your money on a really good guitar instead of getting only a decent one and a slightly better amp. - Just my opinion though!
Dethkloks guitars would be Gibson Explorers or Flying Vs http://www.thomann.de/gb/gibson_explorer_76.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/gibson_flying_v_67_ebony.htm Great quality Gibson guitars, perfect for Metal and Rock but a bit expensive new. You can find those used in good condition on Ebay for ~900$ . Both have only 22 Frets (which is enough 99% of the time imho) Here are some Metal guitars within your price limit: http://www.thomann.de/gb/esp_ltd_v500_bk.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/esp_ltd_ec500_ow.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/esp_ltd_viper_400...ck_egitarre.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/esp_ltd_ex400ow.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/schecter_diamond_...jack_atxabs.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/schecter_diamondc...llraiser_wh.htm This little amp is not very loud but has awesome tube tones: http://www.thomann.de/de/blackstar_ht5_combo.htm This one is a bit more expensive and really loud, propably too loud for home use but it's a Metal machine: http://www.thomann.de/de/peavey_6505_112_combo.htm As for amps, I would suggest a Line 6. They have a cheap price for how well they sound. He Already has a Roland modeling amp, what good would switching to another modeling amp do?! -------------------- Gear: - Jackson USA Select KV2 King V with EMG 81/85 - Gibson Les Paul Custom Arctic White with EMG 81/85 - Ibanez Rg 8527 J Custom 7-String with DiMarzio Evolution and Air Norton - Peavey 6505+ head with Marshall 1960AV 4x12 cab - Peavey Vypyr 30 Practice Amp - Dunlop Crybaby From Hell, Maxon OD808, Boss TU-2, MXR CarbonCopy, ISP Decimator, MXR Custom Audio Electronics Booster |
