REMINDER:
THERE IS NO SPEED REQUIREMENT IN QUICK LICKS. PLAY THIS AT ANY SPEED YOU LIKE.
This is another SHRED LICK. You can get crazy speed on this with a bit of practice. For the vid, any speed is ok as long as it's clean smile.gif Strike the open string and hammer on the next 2 notes. You get three notes for each pick strike. As a result, you work up serious pace on this. Don't think you have to play fast for the vid, I'm just showing you what it will sound like with a bit of practice. For now, just try to play the lick. It's got a BIG stretch in it and requires pinky power. Most players really struggle with the pinky. This is a great lick for working up your PINKY POWER!!

*NOTE: Keep it smooth and under control. If you find you are losing control, slow down just a pinch.

BACKGROUND / COMMENTS: Keep a solid palm mute and this sounds a bit "RICK GRAHAM" who is famous for his muted legato.

Good stretch!! You faulter a bit when you make the final stretch and there is a bit of string noise when you make the hand shift to reach the final position, but I'm impressed that you are able to make the stretch and still fret the notes. This is a HUGE stretch and it's great to seeyou be able to stick the landing with the pinky! It's built this way so that one has no
choice but to use the pinky instead of the first and third finger. Try this on every stringas a warm up and as a way to work your stretch over all of the strings. It will serve you
well for the rest of your days on the instruments. Nicely done!! You just...
LEVELED UP!!!

BAM!! This one requires a crazy stretch and you gotta stick the landing with the pinky over and over and over. No problem! You stay on beat, keep a good mute, make good clean strikes, its all there. some folks find it tough to stick the landing over and over and over. That's why I put it there. The required repetition means that one has to be able to hit the landing again and again so it can't be a fluke. It's gotta be repeatable. As they say, If you can't repeat it, you can't really play it.

Not a problem for you. You could keep this up all day. You just..

LEVELED UP!!!!

Goo stretch!! This one requires a massive stretch. Also, it has to be played very evenly or it just comes out wrong. Good news is you played it smooth and evenly. Nice! This one has one of the longest stretches of any lick we've done. It means you gotta stick the landing over and over and over and use the pinky in a very controlled manner. Great to see you going back for these licks. Your ability and your confidence has grown quite a bit since you started these. Congrats! You just..
LEVELED UP!!

Good streetch!! This is a great lick to work on your stretch. Try this on every string if possible to see how it feels. It requires a bit of a different angle when done on the higher/lower strings. I'm glad to see you using the pinky!! This is built to make it nearly impossible to avoid the pinky. It's a great warmup lick. You got this!!

You just...

LEVELED UP!!!!
