Hey Muris,

I play live gigs fairly often and I really want to improve my overally sound by using more effects like delay and chorus and also an EQ pedal amongst other things. What would you recommend and what exactly does your G Force or whatever it is called do? Is that for effects and live sound or should I be looking at something else? I have a Marshall JCM800 amp and use a Boss MetalZone pedal and a Korg tuner pedal and that is it. We're doing a lot of covers also in our cover band and Judas Priest tribute band so could really do with the help.

Thanks for your time
Paul Butcher

If you only need effects and you're satisfied with your main tone(clean/drive)
then you could get some effects unit like Rocktron Intelifex,TC G Sharp,TC G Major,TC G-Force etc.
All these units have pretty nice effects like chorus, delay, reverb etc.
Of course as the price of unit is higher, the quality of effects is better(not in 100% cases tho).
You can use it as a FX Loop device if your amp has FX loop send and returns.
If not, just put is after your dist pedal and before amp. smile.gif

I will have a look at the TC units. How do you activate the sounds from those or are they floorboards?

I use midi foot controller(Midi Mate) to recall desired preset/user,but not really to activate it. unsure.gif
It gets "activated" by receiving signal. smile.gif

Christ on a bike. I didn't realise they were that price. I have about 500 pound to spend at minute sad.gif Anything else you can recommend for improving sound as they are a bit on the expensive side.

Once more, are you satisfied with quality of your drive/clean tone?
If yes, then go for G-Major,I believe you can get it for 500 pounds.
And if you wanna improve both you main sound AND effects,
nice unit would be Rocktron Voodoo. smile.gif

I'm not really happy with much lol to be honest. I guess I'm alright with the clean and driven sounds. For clean I'm buying an acoustic amp as my Parker has a Piezo and can plug into an electric amp and an acoustic amp at the same time so I will be doing that but I want an easy to carry unit with lots of different effects that can be used simultaneously without having to buy god knows how many pedals and batteries.

Well then Voodoo might be pretty nice solution for you.
I used it for many years,it has pretty good tube preamp section and cool sounding effects.
Only problem is,you amp already has preamp section...
Does it have preamp-in?

Not a clue sad.gif And I can't check because amp is 200 miles from me sad.gif I'm borrowing an amp at the minute. I'm buying a Fender '65 Twin Reverb when I get the cash. I will look into the Voodoo and see if it is for me. And thanks also as the pick came through today so I will look after it smile.gif
