Hi Guys,
Let's use this thread to ask any theory or general questions not pertaining to your particular assignments. That way anybody can chime in. My goal is for us to all help each other here without cluttering your personal threads too much. Like the discussion that Jer and I have been having pertaining to the modes. This would be a good place for them so everybody can follow along and ask any questions they might have. Just don't gang up on me too much...I'm very fragile!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

Fire away with any questions guys. smile.gif

Also instructors and anybody else can feel free to chime in here as well. smile.gif

Hey Monte, I have a question, which probably anyone here can use the answer to.
You posted one or to posts with explanations about modes, do you want us to read it and print that in our heads, or do you want us to "get" that, so we can do it ourselfs, like we really understand it. This is the second day with me being aware of modes.. and It's quite hard wink.gif

Read it and I will be quizzing everybody about it DAILY. laugh.gif We are also gonna use the modes in our monthly collabs so you can put your knowledge to good use rather than just use it at parties to pick up chicks!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

nice answer, but not to my question... i mean do we already have to understand this in detail? I'm just a bit unsure whether I'm behind schedule.

I think what Monte is saying Kaz that if he is going to be quizing about this stuff daily its imparitive that you know it in detail. Or at least what he has explained so far.

I know that both major and minor pentatonic scales have the same boxes, but the root note in the same boxes has different place. Am I right? ( I know it isn't full answer:P )

Think about how A Ionian and F# Aeolian are related and then look at the major and Minor pentatonics again.....
