This is a little snippet of their new album. From what I've heard so far, I've heard better sounds being emitted from the rectum of a gassy cow mad.gif

I thought Load and Re-Load were awesome, as well as Garage Inc. biggrin.gif St.Anger was good, except of course for the terrible production. But this little snippet with Lou Reed sounds atrocious. Hopefully the rest of it ain't as bad.

When Hetfield started singing at the end I thought 'I wish it was all like that'.

I think Lou Reed was kind of like 'The Streets' of his day, with his social, political commentary.. but I don't think it's really going to make much sense. Not sure who their target audience is.. but then I guess that's the point of art. You don't actually contrive to target people, you just create and let it go and it's there for anyone to pick it up and enjoy if they want.. or not.

Hmmm, I feel a big, confused sigh is going to be the reaction for most people.

Indeed - let's hope it's not the best section of their new album! =)

To their defense I have to say that it's Metallica's constant experimenting that has resulted in all those albums which we love - let's hope they keep doing it.

Could this be fake perhaps? smile.gif

It's very strange indeed, Lou Reed had nice voice, not sure if this is the best he can do over Metallica song.. It would be better if they did a ballad or something, I hope they did smile.gif

Every time Metallica experimented it ended up in something unique, but also good. Load is one of my favorite albums by any band. It was different than what they were doing before, but the song writing and production was top notch.

Now this little snippet they released really sounds like a big mess, none of the standard-bearing Metallica finesse is present. Who knows, maybe they just want to lower our expectations, so that when the whole album is released we will be more impressed than if we had not listened to that sample of bovine flatulence wink.gif
