Hi mate! Have you been checking the differences between them in their sites?

Zoom G5:
http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/g5

Pod HD300:
http://line6.com/podhd/multi-effects/

That would be the first thing that you should do if you want to decide for one of them. So it would be cool if you write here the main differences between both.

Another question:

What use are you going to give to it?

I don't have real experience with the zoom, but I have with the Pod Line 6 which is a very good device. However both brands are really good so you should take your decision based on the differences that you read in the sites and after checking some youtube tests.

Also, if you can try both before buying, then you won't regret.

From my personal taste I would go for POD. I'm not a fan of both mentioned but from all my life tests including very old guitar fx too....zoom was always somewhere on the bottom on the tone quality benchmarks. If I have to choose from both I would go for POD. Especially the distortions seemed to be a bit more natural.

Per usual, I"m going to chime in an say you really need to (if at all possible) go and play both of these before you make a purchase decision. Now that's out of the way smile.gif It will come down to which one you like the sound of better. You might try finding some youtube vids that feature each product, but nothing beats hands on work.

Both pedals are roughly in the same market segment and some people like one, some like the other. I've not tried the zoom but I did find the line 6 to very flexible and easy but it tended to be a bit "fizzy" under high gain which requires some careful tweaking on the EQ and guitar cabs to keep it from sounding thin.

I have a smaller version of the G5 (Ms-100bt). It looks like they both have the same kind of features. Personally, I love the modulation and delays on that unit, but I'm not a big fan of the distortion, so I put an analog Tubescreamer in front of it usually.
