So I've done this demo song almost a year ago, and now I feel, that it's place and time for it to see the light of a day wink.gif

Obviously there's a lot of place for improvement. I have a plan, that when I'll start playing better (thanks to GMS smile.gif), I'll re-record it.

Let me know what you think about it.

I liked a lot ideas from your improv smile.gif

First of all I like the tone because it's not muddy.
The first 18 sec, have a Dream Theater flavor and this is really awesome!!! I really love it smile.gif
0:47-2:37 sounds rock and cool smile.gif
2:39- 4:00 it's a little weird for me. IMHO I had the feeling that 2 songs played in the same time biggrin.gif

If this is your first demo ever, you have a very good start smile.gif I hardly wait to see the next one wink.gif

Hey mate smile.gif This is a very good demo and it showcases your nice riffing tone and skills!

I would make it shorter - unless you aim for creating vocal lines and making it a full fledged tune. It's way too repetitive in terms of a structure, for an instrumental song. Now, the lead part - as Monica said, is a bit too much out of the context. What was your consideration in respect to the note choice you used for the lead line?

Yeah, that was my intent, hence the structure with repeating verse.

I was using A minor scale while improvising the lead, but I think, that couple of notes are out of the scale box smile.gif

Thank you Darius. I wasn't thinking of any particular band while creating this tune, but I guess you can hear Metallica in it. They had the biggest influence on me.

The intro part appeared in my head, when I was outdoors, and I had to murmur it to my telephone, in order to not forget it smile.gif The verse riff came up when I was sitting with my guitar and just strumming with no point. Then I started to put things together.
Most of the time it took me to learn how to use DAW and VST drums and bass.

Very cool approach to composing! When I was Younger and I had no car, I was walking a lot and composing solos while walking. I was imagining the notes notation to remember and image if I forgot the melody smile.gif

You have no idea how much I can relate to this biggrin.gif When I was in college, I used to run in the back of a laboratory with my telephone in order not to forget a piece I heard in my head, while the other people were working on experiments and whatnot laugh.gif

About the lead line - don't think about a scale box - in that way you are tied up to a visual form. Think in respect to the notes making up the scale - A minor would be A B C D E F G - what nice phrases can you build up with those? Give them a direction, a form, dynamics and a nice interpretation. Come on smile.gif Show me what you got. Make it short at first and then we'll see if it can be grown or if it stays short and sweet. Deal?
