Here's a Ted Greene chord voicing exercise that you can use in a more rock, pop, country and soul situation.
All maj9 or add9 chords in the key of A major.
I play the TG voicings first and then I add them to the end of a simple chord progression in the key of A major.
The grips are all pretty simple except for Ted's final Aadd9 voicing. It's a bit of a stretch but you don't have to play it like him. You can use any A chord and it will sound great.

Very nice!

This is something I definitely need to work on in 2018. Chords, chord voicings and changing between "advanced" chords.

In reality, it took TG about 10,000 hours to write that book ... and he didn't like it when it was done.

There are levels of mastery.
