I didn't really have a need for a headstock tuner because I am almost always plugged into a boss tu-3, but I bought a acoustic that didnt have a tuner built in, so the first thing I did was look for a headstock tuner. I picked up a Planet waves micro headstock tuner.
I chose it because its very low profile and seemed like it would be unnoticeable on any head stock.
After using it on my acoustic I tested it with my les Paul, I detuned the guitar and retuned it using the Planet waves tuner, then checked it against my boss tu-3 and its perfect, when this is on its so small you forget it even there, the tuner swivels to get a good view on any headstock. I like this tuner so much I ordered 2 more, one for each of my guitars I play regularly.
