Here is the oiriginal http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/fusion-melodic-blocks/

I used my Fender Stratocaster directly into my PC through a line 6 toneport.

Recorded January 21 , 2009.

Here is my take.

I like the sound here, good choice for a fusion piece. Maybe you can pick harder some notes to get more dynamics but it's only my personal taste.

Really well rounded take, although its sounds like your rhythm placement is really good this track is deceiving to the ears. I played yours with Dave's one right, one left. There are a few times that you are rushing the pick up of the phrases, and a few times you slow down when executing the rhythm. I.E. your rythm isnt consistent.

Because of the design of the backing track i probably would have done the same the first few times unless i recorded myself and analyzed it.

Your tone is really great for this kind of track, you might want to try to experiment with pickup selection to get more clarity out of it, and be just a hair more aggressive with your picking. Its good your picking is really relaxed, but there are some times the music dictates a little more tension to get that extra intensity.
