Yeah, there is a resentment of it, because it seems like such a silly concept, it has its purposes however, if you intermix screaming with a vocal line that isnt actually transparent then you can get a point out, though I believe straight out growling is completely useless. I think growling usally comes with practicing it yourself, finidng out what works for you and stuff, kinda like certain guitar techniques.
