Hey

New member, long time guitar player but just getting serious into shredding.

I never really bothered to learn anything that did not deal with power chords when i first started playing, now I want to tackle and evolve my skill into another form of a beast.

I dont have any problems with this part on ONE until after the set of 22' bends on the E string. ( right as the tapping solo finishes)

The line is

--------15 17p15------------------
----/17-------------17p15h17p19

This line repeats several times. I have no one to ask and I need help developing the skills for this. What should I focus on and what do I do to play this seamlessly

Thanks!

Mo

Hia and welcome to the site! smile.gif

You need to practice hammerons and pulloffs to get that section down, and maybe 2 string sweeping.
You can use alternate picking, but a short sweep down to the 15th fret E string and up to the B string again is most efficient with this kind of speed.

Any suggestions on where to start? I am self taught, I never had a lesson in my life but I know semi basics of the hammer on and pull offs but I am definitely lacking in experience.

If maybe you can elaborate on your "15th fret E string up to B string" sweep?

Any of the tutorials on the site I should consider. I am lost! I can play the whole song up till that point.

To do a full detailed description on how i would play it:
Downstroke on the 17th fret B string then downstroke on the next note, 15th fret E string, then upstroke on the 17th fret, pulloff to the 15th, then a upstroke to the 17th fret B string and the next 3 notes are pulloffs/hammerons. Then start again with a downstroke on the B string.

The motion of playing more strings in one direction with your pick is sweeping.

Have a look at this one: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...picking-lesson/

Hope it makes more sense now smile.gif

No real skills needed except practice mate. Take a metronome, put it on 60bpm and play half notes of your sequence. Then go to 80bpm, 100bpm, and then transfer to quarter notes, 60bpm, 80bpm, 100bpm, then to eight notes, 60bpm, 80bpm, 100bpm, then go to eight triplets 60, 80, 100, and then to quarter notes 60- as fast as you can. Just do it cleanly and take your time.
