Here's a little feedback...
Intro My taste in this kind of intro is a very high voice playing, gradually fading in throughout the whole section. I would suggest your strings, since they aren't doing anything, and the same 4 intruments are playing from 5 to 18. You develop the piano and guitar riff going on by adding another voice, either playing harmony or as I said, constant note ringing. It's not boring, but could be more exciting. This seems like the typical thing to do in a symphonic piece like this one. Tales of the Fallen Messiah Not much to add... You could add a second set of strings for the backing melody runs, with a minor third interval. If you don't want to emphasise this instrument's voice, harmonise the guitars higher notes. Growl Verse I honestly thought you could add more variation to this, as it's 8 bars of the same theme going on, but then I realised it's supposed to have vocals, and should be a break from the other instrumental work. Melodic Verse Beautiful. This theme is very inspiring and memorable. Melodic Verse 2 Repetition of the first one with minimal change. OK, but I would add a harmony for the strings or guitar, leading into the next note, because sometimes the melody is a bit slow. Basically, if you go from C to E, the harmony part would lead the note by playing C-D-E for a smoother transition. Just an example, I don't know if that's the exact case in your song. Pre-chorus Same as melodic verse... Chorus Try a more cheerful chord progression, using the same melody. This could seriously sound epic, more than it already does in my opinion. It will also be a great way to puzzle the listener, because they will recognise the chorus melody, but it will be presented in a different mood. When I say cheerful, I don't mean "happy happy", I mean more "major" sounding... More motivating, ascending etc. Growl No more excuses. We've heard this section before. Add a second voice to spice it up. Melodic Verse 3 Second voice to lead main voice as mentioned in the second melodic verse. Strange ending. The high note seems out of place, which could be a good thing, but it sounds a bit unfinished in this instance. Bridge Very nice, and smooth transition into the... ... Piano Solo Sounds good. Nothing to add in my opinion. Guitar Solo The solo itself is very well composed... I like how it is supported by harmonies at the end. Well done... However the strings seem to more harm than good. First of all they are in a similar frequency range as the other instruments, which isn't always very helpful, because it makes the song sound too saturated, which you do not want when you're supposed to be blown away by the guitar solo. You need to make it more discrete, not that it should be less volume, but at a different frequency range. I say you move everything up one octave, and if it sounds too piercing to the ears, soften it up by reducing volume by a tiny bit. The chords in this string chord progression sound a bit odd, especially at 129. I say you go for a string duet instead of strings, as it would let the guitar solo flow more, but it's up to you. Outro First of all it's too sudden. You should try letting a string section keep playing in decrescendo to fade out the guitar solo, but making sure that it fits the outro section. When I say it's too sudden, I also mean the guitar isn't enough. You play the same theme as during the intro, which started with what you play in the outro. However, since you want the song to fade out gradually, I say you go with the supported Intro theme starting at 4, THEN let the guitar finish the job accompanied by a high string sound fading out. The intro theme is too beautiful not to be taken more advantage of... This should make the song something like 8 bars longer, but the outro would be more anticipated and more powerful. Hope this helps, if you disagree or need me to elaborate on any of my observations, please tell me Beautiful song! -------------------- My YouTube Channel
