Hi GMCiers !
This topic aims at the Pod XT features versus footswitches ones. I'd like to know if the following stuff look better than a Pod XT for home playing & recording :
http://fr.euroguitar.com/ampli/blackstar/ht/5c-combo-5w/129086.html >>> Amp BlackStar HT-5
http://fr.euroguitar.com/interface-audio/line-6/pod/studio-ux1/123541.html >>> L6 Pod Studio UX1
http://fr.euroguitar.com/effet/electro-harmonix/metal-muff/116364.html >>> Distortion footswitch
http://fr.euroguitar.com/effet/mxr/super-comp-m132/118720.html >>> Compressor footswitch
http://fr.euroguitar.com/effet/electro-harmonix/memory-boy/125398.html >>> Delay footswitch
http://fr.euroguitar.com/accessoire/artec/spb8-power-brick/119843.html >>> Artec Power Brick
The price of the whole stuff is a bit higher than my main prices but it's still ok.
A french guitar website told me that footswitches will ALWAYS sound better than a multi-effects gear, is that true ? I'm sure some of you use the POD XT. Lian uses POD XT, but his sound is amazing, so just wondering..
Cya ! Have fun.
PODs are great for recording purposes. Through a real amp separate stomps are supposed to sound better.
A good idea would be going to a local shop and trying a pod trough an amp using some modelled effects. Then try the same amp with stomps instead, and see what you like better.
What I like about separate stomps is that they are very easy to tweak while playing. PODs have too many menus and are not as fast and easy to tweak. But they are great to record though, because they have a zillion possible tones inside
