Vai pretty much snagged Paginini's 5th Caprice for the basis of his solo, check out Jason Becker doing the 5th

He was like 25 when recording the Karate Kid movies, he's close to 50 now but still look like 15 so he's planning another Karate Kid sequel wink.gif

I learned to play Vai's version and Paginini's ages ago, if you go back and listen-Vai only teases the theme in the begining the whole rest of the solo is not part of the 5th Caprice....Jason B's version is much closer to the real version
