Hey guys!

Been thinking about upgrading the pickups and maybe some hardware on my mexican strat, I love playing this guitar but am intrigued by the fender custom shop upgrades or maybe just getting some USA pickups in there?

My main playing is blues (Gary more, SRV etc) so any input would be greatfully received smile.gif smile.gif .

Don't bother with Fender Custom Shop hardware. Check out the best upgrade you can do, a Callaham bridge replacement for your MexiStrat.

Callaham bridge and Texas Specials would be a great upgrade for a MIM Strat man. You would get more sustain, better ringing and punchier tone.

You can take a look at some Bareknuckle pickups too, but they are a bit expensive.

Yeah, that's the "Gilmour" length arm. They have standard and one in between called a "64."

I'm not even using mine now.. my guitar tech refuses to let me have a floating bridge until I can play better. biggrin.gif

Lindy Fralin P/ups are worth looking at as well. It all depends on your budget!!!

Now I'm not sure what a preloaded pickguard with those pups would cost however I do know that for around 180-200USD
you'll get a NEW set of the texas special pups so sounds a bit expensive to me!

Sigfridsson is right, I think the better thing would be to buy new set of pups and just swap them in your existing pickguard. They would be new, and it will be cheaper.
