Hi all, Needing some advice on what a good practice routine should be biggrin.gif I break mine down into 10 min segments, warming hands up with Legato exercises then alternate picking 10 min, scales for 10 min then work on the piece that I am assigned. Are there any routines that people can recommend that would be effective especially lately I have only about 1.5 hrs to practice because I am super busy. Thank you all.

Hey mate smile.gif I think your schedule at THIS point, the stuff included in your practice routine is ok smile.gif The question is - what is it that you feel you are missing out on? Or better yet, what is it that you would like to achieve?

I would agree, what you're doing is right on, now just work on being consistent. I've always found it's better to practice for 20 mins per day every day, rather than do 3 hours one day and none the next.

Hey there man! smile.gif At this point, everything is into place - all you need is focus, patience and make sure that everything you record is the best you can come up with at that certain point in time smile.gif

I agree with Cosmin, your routine seems to be right! We could go deeper and check what exercises you are practicing and also check videos of you playing them to give you feedback.

I agree with The Professor smile.gif Regular practise is more efficient than spending hours but once a time. Personally I do this a bit different. I do not spend some particular time on each technique. I just do the good warm up and than takce a care on technique that needs most improvement or is just more interesting for me at the moment. I had some periods in my life like...year of sweeps fascination. Each technique had it's time so I was focusing on some tips and trick of this precise one. I found that doing too much at the same time was not quite good for me...smile.gif
