Well as far as the guitar goes, a Deluxe Strat (I think) would be pretty good since you like to play classic rock, blues, and some heavier stuff. But as far as heavier stuff what do you mean by that, like what kind of heavier stuff...classic metal (Maiden, Judas Priest) that would work, I think because Maiden's guitarists use strats. But if you mean like death metal it might not sound as good through the Fender, but who knows, you could always put new pickups in anyways.
Now, for the amp. Both are pretty decent from what I know of them. That you should choose because it depends on what kind of music you are leaning more towards playing. The POD can cover all of that but maybe you should get a PA system or a keyboard amp or something clean to play the POD through since it is an amp modeler.
It is your choice to keep or sell your current guitar/amp or whatever it all may depend on what you end up wanting to buy. Think it out and make a good choice and best of luck with buying your new gear.
