I found this informative about the mysterious compressor

A while ago, when I started to play tube amps and needed quieter volumes, I read a lot about sculpting tone. Especially the use of EQ in multiple places before and after the amp. I got most of my info from an old site, http://www.amptone.com , which is a little dated but still has a lot of good info on the use of boxes and amps, especially the EQ section. It's been a while since I read the stuff presented there, but it was integral, with other things, in understanding how to create tones and many of the concepts help when I'm fiddling around.
I'm sure there are other sites that have more up to date detailed info, but the basics don't really change. Learning about EQ and pedals, I think, is just as important as the amp and practice, that is if your using them. This post has been edited by GeneT95: Dec 29 2016, 04:47 PM |
