Howdy mate!

Great to see you posting here in the REC zone! Congrats on your first one!

I think you nailed the technique and there's nothing I'd say aside two things:

- the input level of the guitar seems a bit too big, as it's causing some distortion. When you record, you should watch out for the input signal Run a few tests to make sure it doesn't cause any clipping - it should be under 0 db.

- the last two notes could've been more smoothly tied together, as Ben executes them.

Hi my friend. You made a good effort but you still need to do a bit of work to get that vibrato technique happening right. At the moment you're not getting enough side to side movement in your fingers and you're moving the guitar neck more than you're moving the fingers.

This is common so don't worry. This is a tricky technique to learn but once you've got it you'll be set to go..

Near the end you are using the fingers by themselves. Don't forget to use the other fingers on the guitar neck to add strength to help you perform the vibrato. For example, when you're playing a note with your pinky then use the other 3 fingers to fret the neck in front of that finger and use the power of all 4 fingers to make vibrato. That way you are not relying on just one finger.

Have a look at this old video I made which may help you



You might be surprised at the amount of pressure you need to use when pressing your fingers into the neck. It will feel like you're trying to pull your fingers back through the guitar neck towards you whilst moving your fingers from side to side.

Don't forget that your fingertips stay glued to the frets but your hand moves to provide the change of pitch when you move the string.

Hi mate! Great to finally being able to check your take.

I can notice that you are doing a big effort with this one but there is a basic thing that you must change in order to master this classical vibrato. If you compare your video with Ben's video you will notice that Ben moves his hand and arm while you are moving the guitar. The movement should start from your elbow and wrist. If you pay attention to Ben's thumb, he is not pressing with strength the neck in order to let the hand liberated and move to the left and right to let the technique happen.

It will be easier to understand this for you if you compare your video with Ben's, so I invite you to do it and then to try his way of playing vibrato by yourself. It's not easy to do it well and consistent so be patient while you practice.

So, keep on practicing applying these ideas and let me know how it works!
