Voted. Went with HSS although if I could choose just one, I''d go with HSH with a push-pull pot to split the H coils and a 5 way switch.

H S H ( even tho sometimes the middle pickup gets in the way off the pick ) So maybe some HH w/ tap coil would be cool ..

H-H for me, same as Zakk, never use the middle position single coil.

I must say I agree with Zakk, I don't often use the single coils in the one guitar that I have them in (HSS configuration ibanez Rg560) and often wish the middle pickup was just gone altogether. It gets in the way of picking, doesn't sound great, and generally is annoying.

However, I could see putting coil taps in my H H guitars if I was going to be playing/recording a style that needed single coils. Although, lately, mostly I pretty much stick with bridge pickup and switch sparingly to the neck pickup.

I voted H-S-H since I'm using my Ibanez the most lately, though I only use the single pup in a few songs.

HH for me, Like previous posters I just don't use the middle position or single coils. Whenever I practice Jazz I use single coils, but since I don't intend on being a "jazz player", It doesn't matter too much.
