Hmm very little time devoted to actually showing us how it sounds, very suspicious!! Maybe sound is not the selling point here?
Gossip I heard was it would be released months later but obviously that was wrong. Right after the mesa release...not cool to me as feels they're trying to empty customers pockets too aggressive...anyway;
-They do release new versions (british) of previous releases so I guess some improvement is going on with amp quality...
-Customers disliked cab.s the most, seems thats the most work they did to please them. The speaker change option was actually introduced with an amp sim. called Vandal years ago, I still use it as feels easier to tweak than surfing cab. ir's. If the free version offers enough options I'll definitely try.
-Additions like using post fix as pre (like rack fx as stomp or stomps as rack unit), new tuner,looper etc. are always cool but it might start to feel bloated for hobbyists...like the mixer thing is really a professional approach but it can also be very confusing for some too...
ok makes sense about the cabs, to me that's the most important part of the chain. Thanks for the insights!
The flexibility on being able to put four different speakers on one cab seems cool It does look like it's getting a bit complex though for most folks. That's a fine line to walk between features and complexity. I've always had fun with the amplitude products But the last version I put down money for was AMPLITUDE METAL simply because it was the only sim at the time I could find with "adequate" gain. It was a $200 plugin at the time. Then I found OVERLOUD TH2 and sorta quit using everything else including GUITAR RIG, which was my main plugin for years.
I do look forward to trying it though I wonder if the cab section would be good enough to justify using on its own on by feeding signal from another plugin? I also wonder if they will release it as a sort of stand alone IR thing. hmm. Probably not. Still looking forward to testing it
Its out; http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=7432
Customshop version seems not to have anything changed, if anyone bothers to download let me know if there is
