Hi Muris,

I'm working on the Blue Note in A lesson. I wanted to spend some time with vibrato. Interestingly enough, in this take, I seem to forget the vibrato. *groan* However, looking for preliminary comments on an early effort. I have a couple of mistakes, most notably the slide from G to A on the D string...I forgot to do it, but then did it clumsily...it's a throw away. rolleyes.gif

However, you're input is greatly appreciated!

Another Dark Video because it was late...I need better lighting...working on a solution
No oven mitts...though I should have used them. LOL

Hi Tom, nice take!!

Here are few things I would like you to work on more.
First, most of those C notes in main theme should be slightly bended,
not that much to reach note C# tho but just a little bit
and THEN mute it, not before the bend, it has to be more smooth execution.
0:42 lick has to be played before, bend was on time tho but note A was late.
Also you were pretty much late with repetitive lick from 0:48 to 0:52,
seems like you've learn it wrong time wise, for all timing issue I strongly
advise you pay more attention at lesson's main video and listen closely,
once it gets "into your ears" you just won't be able to play late!
And finally a slide on A string, 5th to 7th fret, you played it with index finger.
There is nothing wrong with that BUT you have another slide right after,
same frets but on G string and guess what, you've got no more fingers!
So you should play slide on A string with ring finger
and then use index for slide on G string.

You have really nice feel for this kind of playing imo Tom,
now we have to clean up some mess and we're all set, good work so far! smile.gif

Thanks for the feedback, Muris. This is quite valuable information. There are some things that I did learn wrong so I'll clean that up. You have some notes with vibrato that I'm missing as well, so I'll get that cleaned up as well. Thanks for taking the time to look at this take.

Cheers!

Oooh...I was playing that wrong. Sorry. I was working on the transitions and missed some notes. Whoopsi. Fixed now. Thanks again for the input. I have to work on GR3 sound a bit, but I'm closer after more time. Coming to a REC submission soon.

Cheers!
