I'm going to have to agree with a lot of you and say "Master of Puppets".....everything before the black album was good though. But the real question is, what happened to Metallica? They used to be really good and the 90's rolled around and they just got really bad and they're just getting worse. The black album isn't terrible.....but I think that's the point they should have reallized it was time to call it quits. Same goes for Weezer, the Blue Album and Pinkerton were great....now we get songs like "Beverly Hills". I can never figure out how bands can be so good and then get so bad like that.

Seriously, what happened to them?! huh.gif i used to love Metallica, then i listened to st. anger and i wanted to gouge out my ears with one of my Star Trek pencils blink.gif . granted, i always loved Megadeth and Iron Maiden more, but Metallica was a VERY close third. i wish they would get it together. come on guys! sad.gif

I dont think so sad.gif You never know and i wont give up on them but i think there past that now and are constantly try to reinvent them self and stick with todays mainstreem music.I think you will get a st. anger style album again just improved with better drums, solo's again and hopefully a better voice. And if not that will be similer to what load was.Yeah they could prove me wrong and i hope they do .I would even be happy if they just made a album that sound's good even if its not hard thrash like th past.We will see as its supposed to be out at the beginning of the year

No. Even if they play thrash, it still need to sound thrash to be thrash imo. And that will probably never happen with that band.

there never gonna be able to pull off a thrash sound. Exodus and Kreator can barely sound thrash in there newer release, let alone metallica who lost there thrash edge after Kill em All. I could honestly say that if your a young band like Gama Bomb or Violator, thrash would be more aggressive but if your old your not gonna be able to put that thrash element into your music as much as younger generation of thrash metalers. Plus most of them are beer drinkers. Beer and thrash has always been a great combination.
