After reading the MTP intermediate thread, I thought I'd create and upload a recording of my overall playing and creative ability.

I've tried to cram in some techniques to accurately show my ability - possibly at the cost of it sounding a bit clustered and cheesy!

I improvised most of the guitar "solo" track, and sat down and worked out a backing chord sequence earlier this evening.

I'm quite happy with how it sounds, and am noticing that whenever I sit down and make something like this - it always ends up sounding very merry and cheesy! Time for some new scales perhaps?! smile.gif

I recorded all guitar parts in adobe audition, using a Strat into a GT-8 and then into the line input of the Line 6 Toneport.

Please let me know what you think biggrin.gif

I think you did a good job! I don't know how long you've been playing, but you have the same problems as many members- especially talking about vibrato, and a few bends.

I think you're creative though, not too much repitition, and interesting licks.
I liked it, good job!

Cheers smile.gif

Vibrato is my nemesis, it must be said. Have better days than others, but most certainly a troubling area of my playing. I've been playing for about 7 years now, not sure if it shows!

My bends are usually one of my strengths (not with vibrato however) so its a shame i missed some where you noticed.

I practised it while watching TV. smile.gif It's 100% strength matter, so don't be lazy, get on it!

Thats a good approach actually, might steal that suggestion! I still haven't quite worked out how precise vibrato has to be. By that I mean, should you strictly be alternating the pitch between two tones - or just wiggling those fingers till it sounds good smile.gif

Best GMC vibrato examples are probably Lavendell, emir and Piotr.
Check it out, good luck!
