Welcome to SHRED BOOTCAMP! I'll be your Drill Instructor! And I do mean DRILL! As in a large power tool used in slasher films and Paul Gilbert concerts. Here is were you EARN THE LIVING DEATH out of your fingers and break through any speed bumps/barriers to become a MASTER CHIEF of Shred!
QUICK TIPS TO PREPARE YOU FOR BATTLE
*Make sure you get both hands in the shot when shooting your video*Make sure you use a metronome for the first several Missions and that the metronome can be heard.*After you complete a mission, shoot me a PM and let me know it's ready and I'll give you a debrief! These are pass / fail, so if you pass you BADGE UP and if not, I'll give you some feedback and you head in to the breach once again.
*The first several missions are VERY simple. They are just to get you used to the bootcamp process.
*Most importantly, there is NEVER a speed requirement in bootcamp. I want you to push yourself to play as brisk as you can, but NEVER at the expense of precision. If you find you are missing a note here and there, slow down a bit. Speed is just a byproduct of precision so my goal is to make you a very precise player. At that point, speed just happens.

MISSON #1

THE MISSION

1.)Your mission is to go all the way back to the very start. The base of the mountain.

LESSON 1. http://bitly.com/gmclesson1

Which you will play SUPER PERFECT!. Speed it up bit by bit until you feel your ready to take it to WAR (Any speed, it's up to you, no points for speed, only points for playing in a precise manner as speed is simply a byproduct of precision) Shoot a video and post it as a reply to this post. Make sure to EMBED the video by clicking on INSERT SPECIAL ITEM above the smiley face and then you'll get a drop down menu. Click on INSERT YOUTUBE VIDEO and follow the instructions in the Pop Up Menu. I'll then offer a constructive and brutally honest critique.

THE AFTERMATH

Upon nailing the crap out of lesson one at a speed you didn't think possible, and playing it a clean as a freshly waxed floor, you will be given your first insignia of Rank in BOOTCAMP! You will then proceed to Lesson #2 and so forth. Here is the link to the entire 400 plus Lesson Library. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/index.php/Portal:Techniques

Here is the link to your own PRIVATE HOUSE OF PAIN!...Er I mean.. SHRED!

Impressive!!! I can see that you are clearly bringing a lot to the table here. You can clearly alreadh shred. Our goal will be to get to to a place where you play each note, each riff, with extreme precision. Never missing a note, a stroke, etc. You are just starting out but I think you are ready for the challenges that lay ahead.

I don't typically grade/badge more than one Mission at a time, but after watching your video, you have officially "Tested out" of the 10 Missions. I see no value in having you wait for the feedback one by one when your ability merits tougher challenges that the next missions should provide.

Lesson 10 is a real finger twister and you tore through it like a pro!!!! The Current TOP DOG in Bootcamp has just made it past Mission 100 and is diving in to the deep water. With your skill and drive, you could be the new TOP DAWG in no time at all. I encourage a friendly competition between Soldiers. It can bring out the best in them. That's why we have Badges.

There are certain things I look for in Each Mission. Since we are grading 10 of them, I'll be looking for the most important bits in all of them.

Let's Debrief!!!!
MEDALS OF HONOR
PICK ARTICULATION: One of the hardest things to teach is how to properly articulate the pick. To avoid using the forearm/"picking from the elbow" technique and focus on picking from the thumb/first finger and wrist. You are doing a great job on the slower bits. The only issue is when you start playing fast. Your pick arm stiffens a bit and you start to use a bit of forearm. It's not enough to prevent you from badging, but it's something that we will work on. Before long you will be able to play at any speed you like using only your wrist and thumb/first finger.

As an example, here is my take from a recent collab here at GMC. Look at my pick hand. Notice that I'm picking using wrist, at speed. My forearm isn't part of it. Also, notice I don't ever tense my picking hand. That's one of the keys to the kingdom of shred.

MUTING: Another stick point is Palm Muting. Teaching students to keep the right hand planted and rotate it rather than moving it up and down the bridge. You have a good muting technique that I think we can perfect as you go. The goal being to keep the hand centered on the bridge so that you can reach the high E and low E without moving your palm mute off the bridge. Just by rotating your hand a bit.

Here is an example of "Center Strategy" keeping the palm centered on the bridge and rotating to reach all of the strings.

HAND SYNCHRONIZATION: You have very good hand synch. You have clearly put in your practice time! I did notice that on some of the faster passages, you drifted from the metronome a bit. Yiou were still in time with yourself, I could count time on what you were playing and it was solid, it was just not always connected to the metronome. This happens sometimes when we focus on the playing and go a bit deaf to the click. Adding more clicks can be a handy way to make sure your striking on a click.

Here is a quick video with a ton of Hand Synch Licks. When playing at speed, one miss from Synch and it will stick out like a sore thumb. The good news is your synch is great!

You fought well Soldier!! You've earned the right to wear the 10 Badge!!! You just..
LEVELED UP!!!

Impressive work Soldier. I can tell that you are looking at the tabs/score carefully and considering what is being played. You've got very good technique going here. Nothing sloppy, no string noise, good palm mute, clean pick strikes. It's all there. These are some great takes. I'm going to go through each one and give it proper consideration and then focus on the most important bits that are common to all of them for the critique. The good news is I didn't see a Miss in any of them. Doing a bunch at once you run the risk of say boning on one in the middle, which means you can't badge past it til you go back and re do it. However, I don't see any that need to be redone on the first watching. Congrats on that. Full critique to follow. Keep it up!!

MISSION DEBRIEF!!!!!!

Soldier, I went back and watched all of these again and I must say I'm impressed. You have a strong grasp of the various techniques involved in all of these. Best of all, you are not giving in to cardinal sins like picking from the elbow, rushing/lagging, over committing to any single pick strike, weak palm muting, avoiding using the pinky, etc. Nope! In fact, you look like you've put in serious time in the wood shed to avoid all of the typical pitfalls that these lessons are designed to bring out! Each one of these builds on the last. Each one is built to give your hands just enough room to play something badly, with poor form, without the pinky, etc. You don't fall in to any of the traps set before you. Instead, you display solid technique the entire time. Not to mention, NICE IBBY!!!!! smile.gif

Let's Debrief!!
MEDALS OF HONOR

PLAYING WITHIN ABILITY: It's always tempting, to push the envelope well past where one actually can play. I see it all the time. In an earnest effort to shred, folks end up trading precision for an attempt at speed and end up getting neither. No problem here. You push the envelope just to the point where you still retain control. The metronome keeps you honest the entire time and your ability to play with the metronome is impressive in and of itself. Many times folks struggle to line up the click with the pick. Not you. You were born to it!!!
NOT TENSING UP: The most crucial lesson I try to teach NOT TENSING. If one let's the arms tense up, precision/speed/endurance, it's all wrecked. You keep enough tension for control, but not so much that you are tensing yourself out of playing well. Nice.
PACING: It's often tempting to play the parts that are easier for the hand faster than the parts that are more difficult. Good news is you don't fall in to that trap!!! You lock in with the Metronome and keep it smooth as glass.

In other words you just..
LEVELED UP!!!!!
It's been a LONG time since I badged anyone up this quickly but you clearly have tested out of these early lessons. You are ready for the the next batch. If I saw things that needed fixing it would be a different story. Nope. Well played!!!

Well Fought Soldier!!! This Mission often puts many a soldier on the back foot. It seems almost intimidating at first. All that blank canvas and it's all up to you to create a cool solo from scratch. It's a LOT to ask of any player.Especially when one is still new to creating solos.

Let's Debrief!!
MEDALS OF HONOR

This mission is not graded by bullet points as each solo and player is different. It's more like a conversation. To wit!
If my experience as a teacher has taught me anything, it's that the best way to get better at playing solos, is to create and play a LOT of solos. One has to "play through the bad" sometimes to get to the good. There is just no way around it. However, I was impressed with your solo and didn't hear any BAD bits in it. You were on time, bends were to good, notes in key or relative to key, technique was spot on, it's all there!! When you played with speed it was tight and hand synch was good. When you slowed down, vibrato was good as well. In short, I think you are a fine soloist and have a great deal of potential to yet explore. I fear perhaps fear itself of soloing may be holding you back, the evidence suggest you have talent and chops to spare! I'd like to see more of your solo work as you are well prepared technically and just need more time creating solos to get really good. Our COLLABORATIONS are a great chance to get better, I'd say join ni every one that you can. Make a playlist of them on youtube so you can track your progress with each video you make. In short you just..
LEVELED UP!!!
I look forward to your next mission soldier!! You are on a roll!!!

WELCOME BACK TO THE FIGHT SOLDIER!!!

It's great to see you back in the FIGHT Solder! It's clear that you have been putting in some time on the gun range!!! You have been making some great progress!! I don't usually badge up more than one Mission at a time, however, in light of how well you play these, I think you've earned SPECIAL DISPENSATION. Let's Debrief!!
MEDALS OF HONOR

TRAVERSE OR DIE You may have noticed that these drills lean heavily on your ability to traverse strings. If you can't traverse, these licks fall apart. The good news is you have really strong traverse skills here. NICE!!

SILENCE IS GOLDEN: Without a solid palm mute string noise will overpower the notes you are trying to fret. You display a very strong palm mute technique that works well over a variety of drills. SCORE!

PICK ARTICULATION: Perhaps the most important skill of all. Being able to articulate the pick based on what is being played. You adapt to each one of the drills with ease. MEGA KILL!!!

CONGRATULATIONS SOLDIER!!

That first lick you played was amazing. It's not part of 29 but honestly thats fine. It's a great example of your ability. I'm very impressed solider. The actual Mission was well below your ability. You are clearly ready for the crazy stuff that is coming. In the coming missions there will be 5 ddrills to master. Some of them are not very easy to play. But you seem to have grown quite a bit as a player since I last saw you so I think you will RIP through them. Let's start with the first one.

MISSION 29 DEBRIEF!!

MEDALS OF HONOR

CLEAN KILL: First thing I look for on this is a good mute. This has open strings so string noise is the enemy. You're doing a great job managing the string noise that is very hard to escape in licks like these! Nice!

SMOOTH AS GLASS: Looking for good pick articulation too. Pick articulation is smooth and consistent. Nice!

PACE BY PACE Lastly I want to see no rushing or laggin. You don't lose your mute, you don't start rushing or dragging, solid as a rock.

Well Played Soldier!! You just..

MISSION 30 DEBRIEF!!!

MEDALS OF HONOR

SYNCH OR DIE You may have noticed how much emphasis I put on hand synch. If your synch is bad, your playing is bad. Good news here is your synch is spot on!

MUTE OF DEATH You may have also noticed how much I focus on palm muting. I This is so that hen you want to play open string licks, etc, you will be able to.

PRECISION KILLS picking with very good articulation. I always encourage picking from the thumb/finger then back along the hand/wrist. The only way to get used to picking this way, dare I say the "proper way", is by repetition.
Ticked every single box I was looking for. Every single one!!!

SYNCHING AND SWIMMING Very tight and controlled, right/left hand synch.

SILENCE IS GOLDEN Very good muting and noise control with the right hand
I know this Mission is not easy. You have demonstrated impressive ability and are ready for what awaits!

MUTE OF DEATH You may have noticed how much I focus on palm muting. I make these licks so that it's hard to cheat and use the left hand to mute. This is so that when you want to play open string licks, etc, you will be able to.

PRECISION KILLS Each one of these drills is designed to try to allow you to work through any of your weak spots so that you progress in technique every time you badge up.

I must apologize for all of the confusion on this lesson. I remember making the video and doing a "Pick Every Note" drill, then later making the mission a bit more straight forward by eliminating the tablature for that. I'll killed the video as there are only 2 pieces in this, no double picking etc. That stuff was slowing people down this early on. Not you! smile.gif
Let's Debrief!

MEDALS OF HONOR

MUTE AND MORE MUTE First thing I look for is a solid palm mute. You continue to impress with your solid planted palm on the bridge!

SYNCH MUTE Second thing I need to see is goog synch! Both of these require the dreaded "Synch Mute", e.g. hand synch while doing a palm mute. Well played!

TRAVERSING NOT TRAVESTY Lastly, smooth string traverse. This one is non stop string traverse so if your traverse is bad, the lick falls apart. Not so! Your traverse game is good.

MEDALS OF HONOR
PINKY POWER Killer use of the pink to reach and hammer the notes

TRAVERSE THE UNIVERSE Looking for string traverse without any unwanted notes/noise. BAM.

RETRO ACTIVE Non stop back and forth on the strings without missing the strike or finger. Nice!

MISSION 35 DEBRIEF!!

MEDALS OF HONOR

*PINKY POWER ON TURBO: This is a complex way to run a scale but it works in any and every scale once you understand the pattern.

*PACE STEADY AS A CLOCK: It's easy to play certain bits quick, then tricky bits slow. It results in a very stuttery/uneven playing style which lacks precision and control. Good news here is that you don't suffer from this at all!!!

*CLEAN AS A WHISTLE: This is a tricky pattern and requires string traverse and muting and synch. You may not realize it, but you are now using a HUGE amount of technique all at once. Score!!!

MEDALS OF HONOR

*AGRESSIVE STYLE: Points for shear aggression on this one Soldier! It's built for speed and you ripped it a new one!!!

*PICKING: Second thing I'm looking for on this one is Pick Articulation. Not only did you tear through the Mission, you articulated the pick quite well. Score!

*TECHNIQUE: Lastly, I'm looking at overall technique, Solid palm mute, precise picking, not rushing or lagging, BAM!

MISSION 37 DEBRIEF
NICE!!! Very well fought Soldier. Also, still dig that IBBY!! You clearly have no problem playing these slow or briskly. You have developed some very fine skills and it's great to see. let's debrief!!

MEDALS OF HONOR

SYNCH SO TIGHT IT SHINES: First thing I'm looking for here is hand synch. Your hand synch is spot on slow and fast. You can play it at pretty much any speed and not lose synch. Also, your strikes are very certain and strong. Nice!

MUTE IT OR SHOOT IT Secondly, I want to see a good mute. On brisk licks, muting is critical. If you lose your mute, string noise enters the picture. Not a problem here. Your mute is strong and stable and you keep it centered. Great for here. Also, you have gotten a very good handle on picking while keeping your mute solid. Well done!

TICK TICK TOCK SHOOT THE CLOCK Lastly, I wanna see it tight! This is built to be tricky. All the back and forth is meant to allow your hands to miss a beat hear or there. Good news is you never miss a beat. Not once. Lots of back and forth. Easy to get it twisted but not!! Spot on.

QUICK LICKS 38 DEBRIEF

Impressive work Soldier. You can play these slow or fast with no problem at all. I'm really impressed with your playing here. You are able to keep your precision even when you speed up. It doesn't get loose or sloppy. Many of the Missions to this point have focused on Picking. You are about to head in to the deep weeds where we start adding other techniques. I think you are more than ready. You are making great progress. I am really looking forward to your next chunk of vids!!

Let's Debrief!!!

MEDALS OF HONOR
PICKING FROM HELL!: Picking so go, it's nearly EVIL. Not a strike missed in the entire Mission. Picking is the first thing I"m looking for in this Mission and you KILLED IT.

HANDY SYNCHY! The second thing I need to see on this Mission is your hand synch. These drills are built to show any gaps in your synch. You've clearly spent time getting your synch under control Well done.

MUTE OR SHOOT! Lastly, I'm looking at your mute. These drills traverse every string, so there are plenty of chances to lose control of the palm mute and generate string noise. Not so here, you keep a great mute.

This is the LAST MISSION before you get your new CHEVRON on your badge. You've earned it to be sure!!

In short you just ....

MEDALS OF HONOR
CLEAN AS GLASS: First thing I wanna see is how clean this gets played. Each strike is measured and even and strong. Nice!

SO TIGHT YOU COULD BOUNCE A QUARTER OFF OF IT: Second thing I want to see is tight handy synch. This lick doesn't work without it. Right/Left hand Synch is Spot On, Per usual!!

STILL STRONG Lastly I want to see good muting and no string noise. Your mute is solid as a rock!

MISSION 40 DEBRIEF!!!
NICE!!!! This one requires everything you've learned so far. It's putting it all together. You have zero problem with it. I think you are more than ready for crazy bits that start heading your way after lesson 50. That's the halfway mark to triple digits. Only one person has ever made it past the 100 level barrier but I think you could do it with no problem. You clearly have spent time on your technique and it's paying off!! Let's Debrief!
MEDALS OF HONOR

LEFT HAND SKILLS THAT KILL. The first thing I look for in this mission is your ability to traverse. That's why we use every string. You did a great job of keeping your mute stable and not moving your right hand around. It's easy to get pulled in to moving the hand instead of just rotating the wrist.
RIGHT HAND SKILLS THAT KILLL Second thing I want to see if that you can synch your pick strikes to the left hand without any gaps/lag. Some folks get their strikes and non strikes mixed up and it's easy to hear when it happens. Not you! Nailed it.

THAT SYNCHING FEELING Lastly I need to see perfect hand synch. Any drift and it sticks out like a sore thumb! The good news is, you don't have any!! If there are gaps it's easy to spot. You have really good right left synch. NICE!!

MISSION 41 DEBRIEF!!

MEDALS OF HONOR

FINGER TRAVERSE: First thing I wanna see here is strong traverse skills. This lick requires you to traverse all the strings which is a way to test if you have the ability to traverse non stop. NICE!

PALM MUTE: You may have noticed that I"m always looking at the palm mute. It's the key to eliminating string onise. Keeping your hand planted while playing is a skill.

PICK ONCE HAMMER MANY: I have you play this lick struck and hammered. Your use of pick once, hammer many is very good and tightly controlled. Try the pick once hammer many on every scale you know. It's a great technique. Well done!

In short Solder, you just...
LEVELED UP!!!

for a long time I did not upload anything...
such calm tracks seem a lot more complicated to me, because they are more emotional than metal tracks and therefore this improvisation is a bit bland. plus I felt a lack of cliches that I could apply for a melodic solo.the part with tapping seems is more to fill silence as for me.

This is exactly what I was looking for Soldier! The entire point of this is to give you some space to let you express yourself musically. If you are not used to playing a solo against ballads, this can be very challenging. I like your not choice and your technique is spot on. I can tell you've got the skills to solo over just about anything. I liked the hammering part quite a bit and felt it worked well.

This Debrief is a bit different in that it's more of a conversation than a bullet list. I really wanted to throw a backing at you to see what you would do with it. Many Soldiers never make it past this lesson. Some people are simply not comfortable playing a solo or playing a solo over a slow backing like this. It takes a degree of confidence in one's playing and an ability to make it sound musical which is the entire point of all of this work. Your solo has feeling, it's musical, very listenable. SCORE!!!!!
You just...
LEVELED UP!!!!

Super Congrats Soldier and welcome back to the fight!!!!

I tried to be a little more restrained.
in this time some problems with noise is appears,i didn't notice that while record.next problem is overall sound, especially in 44 take,I guessed that it would be so and because record a few times in row,i will ask someone to record my play in future to try.

First off YOU KRUSHED the first part of 43 and it's a pretty tricky bit. Amazing that you played that well and that smooth at that speed during constant string traverse and a really twisty pattern. NICE.

The problem comes in part 2. You start off very strong and I was actually a bit shocked at the sheer speed of it. About half way through, you stumble a bit but recover nicely. I think this lick is well within your ability, which is saying a LOT as this is also a very tricky Lick. You may have just pushed the speed a pinch outside of your ability. If this were Quick Licks, it wouldn't be an issue. Being able to play it at all would get you a badge. This is bootcamp, where precision matters and badges are more about precision than anything else.

I think your noise level at least on the first mission is just fine. Recording yourself is perfectly ok for me. Your vids are always good quality, I can hear everything and I can see both your hands and hear the metronome. Can't ask for more.

Try PART II one more time just a pinch slower, you can probably play it almost as fast as that, but just back off a pinch to allow for the difficulty of the lick. This isn't a shred lick after all, it's a finger twister designed only to test your ability to keep hand synch and stay in time.

I replaced exercise 43 and reloaded the video, after rest. apparently, some problems with muting were revealed.

Impressive work Soldier!!! I'm actually shocked how fast you are able to run that inversion drill. I was going to badge you up based on the first slow version. Then you ramp it up to CRAZY speed and keep it together and clean. Nice.

Let's Debrief!!!
MEDALS OF HONOR

TRICKY PICKING: This was is built to test your picking. It's really meant to be too complex to shred. You shred it anyway. Score.
SPIFF SYNCH: Given how tricky the picking bits are, some folks drift synch. Not you. Double Score.
TRAVERSE GALORE: The entire Mission is based on tons of string traverse. This gives the hand plenty of chance to show where it's weak. Good news. You don't seem to have any weak spot. Triple Score.

Most Impressive.

You just..

Very much Enjoyed what you did with the notes and the riffing. You play with confidence and style which is what all of this is really about. in the end, all of these drills are designed to allow you to have the technical skills you need in order to express yourself as a musician without breaking a sweat. You are well on your way. You don't show any tension on your face when playing tough licks and your hands are staying nice and loose which is key. Keep it up!! Well fought. You just.

MEDALS OF HONOR

RIGHT HAND CONTROL: First thing I need to see in this Mission is good right hand control. Without it, the tapping bits especially fall apart. You have very good right hand articulation here.

FINGER POWER: The second thing I want to see if FINGER POWER. If you lack finger power, you won't be able to do two hammer ons in a row which are required in this one. You have very good power and each hammer on sounds equal in volume. SCORE!!

PRECISION IN TRAVERSE: Lastly I wanna see good TRAVERSE skills. This is why I have you run over every single string and back. You don't stumble, you don't skip, you run it smooth and clean.

Impressive work soldier. You have all the skills needed to go all the way!!!
You just..LEVELED UP!!!!!

so,let's continue. In last time I began to have problems with live sound, the table vibrates from low and transfers all this to a cheap mic while I waiting for a tripod.
in ex.47 I could not stretch my hand to 12 frets, but by the time of recording there are already small successes.
And I did not quite understand the essence of exercise 50, if it is not for working off the right and left hands separately
Timing:
46 - 0:01
47 - 1:02
48 - 2:01
49 - 3:40
50 - 4:20

NICE!! 46 has that single string lick that really seems to be a challenge for most folks. The timing on the lick is a bit strange but you NAILED IT. Also, you did some killer improv at the end! Let's Debrief!!

PRECISION: Playing with precision is the only goal of this entire affair and it's great to see you playing with more and more precision each time you do a mission.

NOISE CONTROL: Despite using some distortion, I don't hear any unwanted string noise. Very well done on that. Adding gain makes any extra string noise show up and requires muting to be on point!

DEXTERITY: You play with precision and dexterity making fine use of the weakest finger, THE PINKY! Developing PINKY POWER is just critical.

In short you just...

LEVELED UP!!!

I decided not to polish my takes,to be honest and to see my main problems that I'm struggling with at the moment. It is a dome noise on thin strings and skip some notes whan i play at fast and moderate speed.

I must apologize for MISSION 50. I re read it and it's just not very clear so I re wrote it and did a new piece of guitar pro for it. The point of Mission 50 is to get you to use Hammer ons and pull offs to traverse through all of the strings. Also, I want you to try to pull your left thumb off of the neck which I call "thumbless" technique. I've reduced Mission 50 to a single drill as it's plenty difficult to do just this one drill and the other bits were just making it confusing. So here is the Guitar Pro and Tab image. You can use the one you already recorded or try this one. Either way is ok smile.gif

WELL FOUGHT SOLDIER!!!! You are on a ROLL!! Let's Debreif!!

MEDALS OF HONOR
CLEAN EXECUTION: Your palm muting is coming along very well. I don't hear random string noise, no random notes, nice!

ASSASSIN GRADE PRECISION: Speed is a byproduct of precision and your playing in a very precise manner here.

SYNCH, SYNCH, SYNCH: In this one, you can't miss one strike without it being very obvious. That's why we have so many synh drills.

QUICK TIP: If you notice a backing track with any MISSION, try to download the backing and then play the licks with the backing. You can change/mod the licks if you need to or want to. Not every Mission has a backing, but if you see a backing, GRAB IT and go for it!
You just..

MISSION 48 DEBRIEF!!

MEDALS OF HONOR

TIMING TIMING: All of these licks are built to show you if there are any gaps/problems in your timing. Your timing keeps improving with each Mission. The more you dive in, the better your timing gets so keep going!!
PRECISION PRECISION: . Without precision, everything falls apart. Your precision also continues to improve each and every time. You are getting better much faster in real time as I watch!
PICKING AND OR TAPPING: You show that you can both pick and tap with the best of them in this Mission. You are equally adept picking and tapping. Nice!

You sir just....

49 MISSION DEBRIEF!!
MEDALS OF HONOR

PUSHING TO TARGET: This is NOT an easy one. Doing multi note tap with an open string is impressive. Score.

PRECISION REIGNS: With multi note taps like this, it's easy to rush or lag just a pinch on one part or another. You never fall victim to it. You precision is great the entire time.

PULLING TO OPEN: Pulling off to an open string is something that some folks struggle with, it often creates unwanted noise. Not with you!! Silent as Death. NICE!

You krushed it Soldier!!!

MISSION 50 DEBRIEF

MEDALS OF HONOR
TUFF BY DESIGN: This lesson is designed to make you work your bum off in terms of your LEFT HAND. Especially the bits where you can't pick. You didn't seem to have any trouble with it at all. NICE!

MUTE: Wax on Wax off, Mute on Mute off. The mute in this is tricky once you can't pick. You try it with the palm on bridge and over hand technique. You mute a bit hard on the bridge but you do the left hand work great and there is no string noise so SCORE!

PRECISION: These Missions are all about precision. Especially in a lesson like this where even one mistake will blow the entire thing. You are on top if this one big time. Y

In short Soldier, you just....

BATCH MISSION DEBRIEF!!!

Soldier, you are clearly ready for the next series of Missions. You CRUSHED the last batch and I've watched the new batch which you also CRUSHED. You are playing very well. Smooth and confident. Precision and Speed, technique, it's all there. You are ready for challenges that await you. As such, I'm going to grade the entire batch of MISSIONS in on go 51-55.
MEDALS OF HONOR

PRECISION/SPEED You play a slow pass then you play a shred pass. You manage to keep your precision at speed which is great to see. Some of these are very complex and you just blaze right through them!

TENSION IS DEATH: Playing with too much tension restricts precision, speed, and endurance. It's a great way to stunt one's playing. Very glad to see you are able to play with a light touch!!

PINKY POWER:
I've seen folks try these with the first three fingers only. It's quite a lot of work doing this with the first three. It's not a great way to go about it. You have a really good command of the weakest finger and it's great to see.
You are clearly ready for the "POST 50" Level of Madness. It gets a bit trickier from here but I don't think you will have any problems!!

You just..
LEVELED UP!!!!

finally I recorded, I redid it many times, but still decided to leave the option with playing in a minor on top of the backing track. it doesn’t sound as beautiful as the other improvisations that I saw.
I did not practice for some time for some reasons, as a result I got problems with my right hand,so I made a home recording to show my mistakes and problems for further analysis.

Welcome back Soldier!! This is the most ambitious solo for this mission that I have EVER seen. You are doing EVERYTHING and doing some stuff we never really covered like spiff sweep picking. It all works to make a truly impressive solo. I can tell that you are still early in the process and maybe could use a few more repetitions on this. There is a little gap at 30 seconds and a couple of timing issues but nothing too terrible. I would like to be able to hear the backing track a bit more and maybe a bit more gain/distortion on your tone and bit more volume on your tone so that the notes are louder than the pick strikes on the strings themselves. But a cell phohne video is very much ok for this type of thing. Just a bit louder for you and the backing and it would work very well like a live concert vibe. I think you are more ready than anyone I've ever seen take this test. I didn't realize you had progressed this far. It's really great to see! I would say maybe make one more recording, relax just a bit, leave some space in between licks, turn up the volume for backing and for you and enjoy what you are playing. Then you have it sorted and it will be badged up!!!!

Very nice work btw!!
