Hey Gabriel,

I love all of your in the style of lessons as you really capture the style and energy of the acts. My favourite band of all time is Nirvana as they wrote some of the catchiest songs with the most energy and thoughtful lyrics out of any of the huge 90's bands, and lots of guitarists started playing guitar because of Kurt Cobain. If you could do a lesson on them that would be awesome. One of the biggest bands of all time surely deserve an in the style of lesson biggrin.gif

Regards,

Paul (OC)

I'm actually surprised there isn't one yet. There are tons of famous bands, of course, but still... dry.gif

Look at the topic for my guitar...

Cool idea! biggrin.gif

I for sure would like to see more Nirvana stuff at GMC - we haven't got one single yet! I think the closest is Gabriel's Foo Fighter's lesson. (which is really awesome!)

You could approach it, as, how he might have played if he did less dope and worked on his guitar more. Take his sound to a higher level. You are of course a much more skilled guitarist than he was.

Although sometimes a simple lesson is real good. For example, Lian did one, very simple, just pairs of 6 and 7 note arpeggios, but with short melody interludes, very simple, but to me, I got as much out of that as with some really technical lessons. I look forward to your lessons. I am sure that whatever you do, will be worthwhile covering.

Kurt Cobain was how he wanted to be on guitar. He sold millions of albums and he was a great songwriter which is better than being a great guitarist in my opinion. He was far from bad on guitar though and did some really interesting stuff if you look beyond the big hits.

He could not wear Gabriel's sneakers. Even his sweat socks. I don't know about the great song writing. He had some, but not that much. My opinion. If you want to hear a band that wrote about 5 times as many good songs as he could come up with, listen to the Replacements. Who he quite honestly, got a lot of his sound from.

I think a lesson would be fine though, as I said.
