First check out Daniels new lesson, "Metallica - Battery- Rhythm", and then post a reply to today's topic.
Which band other than Metallica, effectively uses a low, clean, possibly even an acoustic guitar, in the beginning and drives directly into a heavy riff the best? Or starts with the heavy riff and drops into the clean guitar. |

Deep Purple's in "Child in Time" has dramatic changes in dynamics. Modern bands that use these changes are SOAD and Arch Enemy.

I remember watching the Dave Navarro instructional instructional video where he states that there should be a "more drastic change" between intro and the song + between other parts as well. Generally I think that approach is really good.
