Hey friends,
I'm currently doing a Sociology project in school to discover if racist attitudes have improved in modern society. I have set up an anonymous survey with a few questions. I would very much appreciate it if you could do it

jstcrsn I don't agree. There is only one box that I could see like that..And even that, wasn't that bad.
I think all races have their small percentage of racists.

I think all races have their small percentage of racists.yes but the only question getting to the point is about coucasions, why not ask " what ehtnic groups are racist and why" ( STILL SOCIETY has changed bigotry to racism, apples and oranges in my book, you can have no racism = a race being born superior. Bigotry= I don't like you cause your different such as 30 percent of whites voted for Obama , while 95 percent of blacks voted for him, by that statistic what sounds prejudiced ?

There's good reason for whites being considered more racist tho? Anyway, racism shouldn't exist, racial stereotypes and biases are fucking stupid. Squirrels are people too.

Hey mate, it's a good point you've raised there. However, in the project we are looking at Caucasian people in particular. In places like USA and Australia, Caucasian people were the initial 'settlers', and thus we are looking at whether the chance of them receiving racism, or the likelihood of them being racist, is higher or lower than a non-Caucasian person.

yes but , blacks sold and bought slaves to get rich as well,and 500,000 white americans fought and died to free the slaves, it just seems these things get overlooked

Yes according to history we've both been supporting slavery. However I can't see slavery as racism, just abusive, psychological terrorism. Racism may have been the reason they made up to support their actions, but they don't bare the same kind of implications that the subtle sociological segregatory actions that form my current perception of what racism is.

I won't comment on the questions. It's their survey.
In the states racism is definitely alive and well ... but not always where you'd expect it and not always within the racial groups you'd most likely expect to find it. You want a real sociological 'eye opener'? Come live in L.A. for a couple of years.

Things are quite interesting here also, where unlike the states, immigration is very new, so lots of first generation immigrants from Africa amongst many other places. It's interesting to see how some take on the cultures of their new country and intergrate whilst others cling to the culture of their old country and segregate themselves. Many of the Nigerian have issues with people from other tribes forming it's own form of racism.
