GMC Forum _ Uploads _ Looking For Backing Tracks?

Posted by: Andrew Cockburn Aug 22 2007, 10:00 PM

A common question on the forums is "where can I get backing tracks from?"

This thread will collect all backing track sites we find into one place.

As usual, the rule is that if you find a new site, add to this thread and I'll edit the main list.

Lets start with:

http://www.guitarbt.com/index.php?page=dl_list
http://www.guitarvoice.com/
http://www.blueslessons.net
http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com
http://guitarplanet.free.fr/backingtracks.htm
http://www.bluesblast.com/
http://www.bluesjamtracks.com/

This is a great site for some simple tracks to play over....enjoy.

Some really high quality ones one here, there are some videos of Guthrie Govan playing over some of their tracks on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUZK9dasP8s

There are links to some of the others on that one, I think.
(On a side note, Guthrie is a complete and total genius, if you've never heard any of his stuff, have a look around, he's seriously worth it.)

The more I read these forums the more great stuff I find smile.gif

I've been practicing blues with the backing tracks of my G-dec Jr amp, and was getting tired of practising over the same tracks all the time, so these sites will be of great help to get some extra blues backing tracks.

Thanks smile.gif

This website is pretty good. The defaults are nice. If you email him he'll send you a user name and PWD, he's got some good stuff on there.

I first heard Joe Satriani when I was wasting my time playing Gran Turismo 4. They used his Summer Song track off of The Extremist. I just bought his Extremist album and fell in love with the song Cryin'. Talk about motivation. Thanks for posting this link cause now I'm gonna try and learn this great slow tune.

Hey JWBauer. Sorry to change the subect but....That is one sweet guitar! I've been looking around for a hollow body and hadn't seen this one before. After reading the reviews I think I found it! Great price too! just what I've been looking for. How you like yours?

Posted by: skennington Feb 8 2008, 03:56 AM

This one seems to be good so far. Only drums and base from what I've played with.

Man, Thanks for the add! I've always liked Gillmour and said this was'nt my style, but I'm starting to dig this. Lookout for an upload from me using the slow blues backing!

Hey, Guitarbt is a great site, thanks Juan. The version of Apache on the other site is poor, but the one on Guitarbt is great.
All the other backings I've downloaded from the other site are excellent though. I like to play Shadows tunes from time to time .... I find it quite relaxing.

Cheers.

Fireball-http://www.guitarchaos.com/showthread.php?t=119 This is a forum thread where people posted Joe Satriani backing tracks. Some of them are unavailable but there are 4 full pages of them so have fun!

also here's a BT site for guitarists, singers, and others that is frequently updated-http://newbackingtracks.com/
