Hello everobody...just joined GMC and too excited to post my first topic here. I am Rohit, age 20, pursuing my graduation in Aerospace Engineering (actually my screen name 'Aerohit' == 'Aero' + 'Rohit', comes from there).
I took up guitar only an year ago and I can proudly boast that I can play 'Fade to Black' and almost 'Sweet Child o Mine' (I dont have a wah-wah paddle sad.gif ).

I am a huge fan of Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Hendrix...I know i live in the 60's and 70's (though i was born much later smile.gif ).

By the way here is something for all the Gilbert holicks 'While my guitar gently weeps tribute'.

Welcome the the GMC Rohit, hope you enjoy it here.

BTW, very nice gilbert clip, there was a rock and roll hall of fame thing with prince playing the same solo, which is pretty awesome as well... here is that, pretty awesome solo as well.

Namaste Eyal and everybody...smile.gif . I didn't expect that (i.e. someone greeting me in Hindi...my native language).

And ya I am not new to GMC, I have been a link member for around 6 months, its just that i got the permission to post in the forum just now. Therefore I can duly credit all my learning to Kris and other great teachers here, I salute them for putting up such a great site.

Well here is another of my favourite video 'Stairway to heaven...Flamenco style'.

I hope everybody would want a girlfriend like that smile.gif. Hello JVM, the link that you put up wouldn't work for me. Can you maybe upload that thing on youtube if possible.

Hi fkalich. Can you tell me which college did you majored from. I am doing my graduation from IIT Kanpur. I think its a pretty reputed institute...maybe some of our American friends would vouch for that.

Well that was at the University of Kansas, it as an Aerospace program. He did some work with NASA early on, then went to to McDonnell Douglas, which Boeing bought out about 10 years ago. I did work with NASA myself for about 5 years, but that was software connected with monitoring data processing of environmental satellite data (or so they said). You never know what the satellites are doing for sure.

I know that in all fields, a lot of people just stay in India now. I knew so many Indians in grad school in computer science. I was a minority student at the University. Most of the students (and professors) were either Chinese or Indian. I got along well with all of the Indian Students, and most of the Chinese.

Sorry! I can't seem to download the video (the link still works for me though, lemme know if it doesn't for anyone else) and can't find it on youtube. You can try going to wikipedia and typing in "while my guitar gently weeps", and in the main entry for it near the top there'll be a link to the video.

Anyway, try the same song on ukulele, which is pretty cool as well though most of you have probably seen it.
