Sorry for the delay Cosmin, I am a bit busy nowadays. I am happy that you enjoy it smile.gif As far as I remember I use microtonal bends in the vchat a lot but in this video there is less.

That's cool stuff! Are there any lesson resources here which would relate to this kind of use of microtonal/exotic scales?

bahadirpeker - I had the privilege of jamming with the son of Yavuz Cetin recently!! Both father and son definitely share some awesome talent.

I am not sure if there is any lesson resource about these, but may be instructors can help. You mean Yavuzcan Cetin? and where?

Posted by: SixStringSamurai Nov 16 2013, 07:10 PM

Yup, Yavuzcan Cetin! He is here in New Zealand currently, I met him through my Turkish workmate who is also a musician smile.gif

Oh that's good! While I was an instructor in a music academy in Istanbul, Turkey, we studied with Yavuzcan about 1 month and he was really good at that time, it was nearly 4 years ago. Cosmin, we are talking about the son of Yavuz Cetin who was a good musician in our country in rock-blues guitar music. Yavuz Cetin is still a very famous musician in our country.

Cosmin, here's one of my favourite songs of his.

Awesome guitarist, and he's got some really heartfelt slower blues songs too - and I don't even understand Turkish! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Great playing, although I can't understand a word he's saying... Bahadir - can you recommend some more Turkish instrumentalists that play stuff oriented towards traditional music?

Posted by: bahadirpeker Nov 19 2013, 01:25 PM

Sure Cosmin! I'm a big fan of Sarp Maden. Here is the link about his playing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO4vn4pJWa4

Posted by: bahadirpeker Nov 20 2013, 11:56 AM

I think I didn't mentioned about Özgür Abbak who is also a great guitar player from our country. Here is a link for him; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD66SYnmisI
