A special day in Canada and other commonwealth countries today remembering the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. God bless to all of them.

No offence, but the military isn't just one sided - war never brings peace...

Remember, remember the innocent people on the other side too from your so-called heroes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ2VXJpQ2Uw

America's government doesn't even support your military as people, rather uses and brainwashes them. 51% of tax payers money ends up in warfare, spying and control, rather than healthcare or education. However out of that those soldiers who actually think they are fighting for good rarely get 1% of that funding. Disabled veterans struggle, about 3.8 million veterans will not be supported or get funding. They are rather used and then discarded. You might call me extremely non-patriotism, even a terrorist, however I ask you why so blindsided?

I am referring to the people who fought and died, setting aside politics and just remembering the soldiers who gave there life.

indeed.
I still remember as a young kid being told the most amazing stories by my grandad about some of his exploits in WWII. I can never get my head around the amount of courage those young guys had.

Why do you spend time bothering with some adolescent's behaviour issues? smile.gif

I always think the same. How much bollocks it would take to go into real battle and not know whether you'd see your loved ones again...Total respect.

This is one of the aspects that us normal folks don't understand. In comparison to the middle ages, when death was lurking at every corner, under the shape of wars, famine, diseases and so on... Nowadays, we enjoy the comfort of safety at a MUCH higher level then back then. It would be wise to wake up and look around and be grateful for what we have..

It is an important day to thank and remember all the veterans who have sacrificed and who are now serving your country.

My Father is a life long military man. He volunteered to go to Vietnam when he was just 18 and served in the Army as a MP officer. He had a career in the Air Force reserves, served in Desert Storm, and was stationed in Qatar in 2008. He is retired now but spent his week visting schools and teaching young kids the importance of Veterans day and how its more than just a day off from school.

It is something that is in some people's blood that I can't completley understand… but I have the utmost respect for what the veterans have sacrificed for my freedom.

That's just all kinds of impressive.
I cant imagine being mentally strong enough to deal with something like Vietnam when I was 18.

"Why do you spend time bothering with some adolescent's behaviour issues?"

I think you guys are missing my point? Did you even watch the YouTube, it's an issue which affects us all?

Sure, I respect the people who go into the military to protect their country and risk their lives. However, I don't believe they are supported by your government, rather used like puppets. You should also look at both sides, I also respect those innocent people who got caught out in the crossfire or suffer due to those wars. Also while they out their fighting, the wife worries and the kids freak out, their dad could be gone the next day and miss him greatly as they grow up without a father in life.

Maybe what I want isn't possible for us humans, due to the sheer stupidity, corruption, greed, power, and control of human nature which lead to these wars in the first place? But please leave God out of it all, when it's both sides praying for Him.

Guns N' Roses - Civil War:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9VhD4SccSE

Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before

Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

No offence, but just don't forget the full picture...

"Remembering the members of their armed forces, innocent civilians, families, so-called terrorists who where misguided in their ways and others who have died all for just the control of resources, hatred and corrupted power"

I'm a bit late on this, but I concur with you fine gentlemen.

Men and women, young and old, on every side.. they all stepped up at a time where they had no choice but to do what they had to do. I can't imagine the harsh realities faced by all. They are all deserving of our respect and our gratitude.

We may not always agree with governments reason's for sending people to a foreign land to take or give their life, but regardless of the reasons behind any conflict.. the men and women out there (and those that have served) absolutely deserve our support, for they are walking a line that we do not have to.

And one thing that I see many people forgetting about WW1 and WW11 in particular, is that everyday people had to answer the call. They had to. Ordinary men and women who might have been postmen or farmers.. suddenly had to step up to this massive demand that was asked of them. Please don't look at war veterans and assume they went looking for a fight.. they were just like you and me. We play our guitars and video games with no fear that we may be called up tomorrow to storm the beaches of Normandy, likely getting shot to pieces before we hit the beach. Yet if we did so, survived and many decades later people denied us our moment of respect, how would you feel ?

Showing respect and gratitude to a group of people does not mean that you trivialise anyone else. They are worthy of our thoughts, this is their time. Let them have it.

Nice words from the comrade britishman tongue.gif . They were in the war against their own Will, not that they have chosen to be some professional universal soldiers under full AMO , they just had to protect their country , for their own good.

I have friends in Poland and last year when I visited Warsaw, they gave me this book, as a present, so that I may understand more about the ordeal your people went through. I haven't managed to finish it yet, as it's pretty consistent, but thank you for the indirect reminder, D-man smile.gif
